Good, Mark . . . I'm thinking of how Jesus says,

"'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
. . . . . and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
. . . for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
. . . . and you will find rest for your souls.
For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
(Matthew 11:28-30)

So, Jesus calls to all >

so Jesus has this hope for all of us, Angel Baby >

all includes you

However - - - Jesus does say, "learn from Me" > we do have some
learning to do. How to be humble, not to be driving ourselves, wasting ourselves, putting down ourselves >
because this is not being humble,
but gets us in a jumble and then a tumble.

So, we need to be gentle and humble with ourselves and others >
not forcing and dominating ourselves and browbeating ourselves or others.
Not demanding of ourselves or others, but trusting You, God,
for what You want for us.

And it is about pleasing You, not just trying to use You for what we may want ;)

<Jesus does say, "learn from Me" >

Bill,

When you posted that, for some odd reason as I read it, I read it as: "Jesus does not say "Lean away from me"...

I said to myself.."wow..that is exactly what I am doing when drinking"

Funny how God works huh?..
Now I have a new word of wisdom ;-)

Angelbaby, i heard this song this morning and it reminded me of you..

i hope it speaks to you the way it did to me.

Life Is Hard (God Is Good) Pam Thum

You turn the key
Then close the door behind you
Drop your bags on the floor
You reach for the light
But there's darkness deep inside
And you can't take it anymore

Cause sometimes living takes the life out of you
And sometimes living is all you can do

Life is hard, the world is cold
We're barely young and then we're old
But every falling tear is always understood
Yes, life is hard, but God is good

You start to cry
Cause you've been strong for so long
And that's not how you feel
You try to pray
But there's nothing left to say
So you just quietly kneel

In the silence of all that you face
God will give you His mercy and grace

Jesus never said
It was an easy road to travel
He only said that you would never be alone
So when your last thread of hope
Begins to come unraveled
Don't give up, He walks beside you
On this journey home and He knows

Life is hard, the world is cold
We're barely young and then we're old
But every falling tear is always understood
Yes, life is hard, but God is good
James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.

Hello angelbaby

I only read the past few of your posts and the replies you been getting . Let me say before hand that I'm not much of a person to mince words when it comes to alcoholism and/or addiction(s) or both . One of the reasons you getting those replies (at least mine anyway) is that we stay sober by helping another who is still suffering , and the solution we have is the only one we know that works , for us . How do I know that , you may ask . Well I am a recovering alcoholic/addict . And it had been only for the Grace of God that I had not found it nessecary to pick up a drink or a drug for the past ten yrs . Were those years scott free, hunky-dory, all roses ? no , did the thought of drink ever cross my mind ? in this round no , before this round ? yes always . The difference ? I just simply got tired of getting back up ! for in the back of mind I was telling myself , what's the use , I'm going to fall again anyway . Until , that is , someone asked me the question I'm going to ask you , " Do you want to stop ? " . Angelbaby , if you're anything like me , your reaction will be like mine was at the time , wanting to rip this guys head right off his body with my bear hands . Well obviously I didn't , I'm typing ! and I'm sober and I'm enjoying my intimate loving relationship with my God and anything else comes second . I didn't realise it then but I do now , which is the message I'm trying to convey , is that this person was saying " or do you just want the problem go away ? " See the difference Angel ?
Well here's the deal , you drink because you have problems and you have problems because you drink !! Lose-lose situation isn't it ? A vicious cycle with no end in sight ! And you know what Angel ? It's not your fault !
Do you want what these people have ? Then you do what they do ! Try it first , and if it doesn't work , you can always go back to what you had !

That's because the life your living is not the Living Life...follow Jesus path sis, not the path you are on now....take the turn, it's just a step away.

luv ya

Ah , how familiar the sound of the day after of the night before huh ? "Sorry" . But you know what Angelbaby ? Welcome to the world of booze and drugs . 20 mins of "high , I'm great ! " to "I'm sorry" for the rest of the day till oblivion . Only to wake up and do it all over again .

Angelbaby , it is not your fault , that's what booze does to the person(s) , that , like me , happen to have this "alergy" . We have no mental defense against it . That "Defense" must come from outside of ourselves , and yes it has to be from Above , I mean , I dont recall myself ever getting drunk intellectualy , so I cant "fix" this intellectualy right ? it's like fixing a broken mind with a broken mind , or replacing a flat tire with a flat tire .
Our problems are spiritual in nature , alcohol and drugs are but symptoms of an already existing problem which is , a spiritual malady . so , we tend to spiritual illnesses with spiritual solutions not mental or physical . And that's what the steps do for us , they help us find that spiritual solution . And when we straighten up spiritualy first , only then we are able to tackle the rest of the "issues" and "problems" right ?

Luv ya because God loved you first

angelbaby go back and read your post where you were starting to stand up against the enemy. Remember how you felt? Strong, powerful, full of hope.

Reach for that again it's the road to a joy beyond your understanding. :)

luv ya
