Hi, Breezy:

Your post is an answer to prayer----praise God!

I'm not usually an emotional person. Just a while ago, in prayer, I was crying and mentioning to God how lonely and scared I feel.

I have no husband, no mother, no father, no brother or sister.

At a time like this, all I want is for someone to hold my hand, someone to hold me. And no one does.

Thank you Breezy---I will check into it right now.

I contacted Cancer Treatment Centers of America, explaining my situation.

They responsed that theirs is a PRIVATE HOSPITAL, and since I don't have insurance or money to pay for treatment, good luck finding help somewhere.

Yet another door slams in my face!

Grrrrrr!

ljd wrote:Pamela, I know how frustrating that can be. I have faced the same thing. I think that if you go to a community hospital, they cannot, by law, refuse you service....of course, the bills will pile up....but, as they told me.....for your life, you can't afford not to have it checked out.....As I write this (an look at the pile of medical bills on my desk) I feel like I am sounding uncompassionate.....truely that is not my intent...I do care.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been through the same thing.

When the community hospital finds out I have NO INSURANCE, they WILL NOT treat me. I have tried. The Community hospital tells me to go to the County hospital.

The County hospital has denied me Medically Indigent Services THREE TIMES.

I have written to the County hospital Chief Executive Officer.

If he is unable or unwilling to circumvent his own bureaucracy and red tape, I have a pro bono attorney that will be assisting me to get the ultrasound and biopsy.

This is Life in America!!! :(

Thanks, Leaps, for your continued prayers.

Please-----call me Pamela.

My "strength" and stoicism are wearing very thin.

I alternate between intense anger, frustration, despair, etc.

Why can't I just be still and know that He is God? There are brief times when I do.

I'm going to church tonight---to Bible study.

I feel like I could explode. Part of me wants to drive out to the barren vastness of the Majave Desert---and SCREAM!

What a human fool I am!

I'm being honest with my feelings here----not weird.

Help thru ACS

Postby Sassy3 » Thu Mar 26, 2009 3:13 pm

Have you tried contacting the American Cancer Society (separate from the private Cancer Centers of America)? You may google them for assistance.

I'm a cancer survivor, but I know not what you are feeling right now....frustration, fear, rejection. You see I was blessed with a loving family, caring community and insurance. But remember this....the Father has not forgotten you....He loves you and will sustain you through this troubling time. You will come out STRONGER on the other side.

My hope is that each person who reads about your plight will whisper a prayer on your behalf....asking the Lord to guide you and touch those with whom you are dealing.

Thank you so much, Sassy3 for the advice about the ACS website. I will check into it. I have viewed SO MANY cancer websites, it gets a little overwhelming. But they are nearly all quite helpful.

And thank you for your kind and compassionate reply to my post.

I feel better today emotionally---for which I praise God.

Next Monday, I'm thinking of joining the Ladie's Bible Study at my church. My friend is going to give me her book, and she will make a copy of the book for herself.

God is excellent, no matter what!

Praise God for the most incredible answer to our prayers!!

I was discussing my situation with a friend from church who works at the County hospital.

This friend told me not to wait for a response to my letter from the hospital's CEO---that time is of the essence.

This friend got me an appointment in the Family Care Clinic for Monday, March 30th at 8 am with a doctor she said is "one of their best."

And here's another miracle and answer to our prayers:

The County hospital has enrolled me in the Cancer Detection Center's "Every Woman Counts" program! Although my monthly permanent disability pension slightly exceeds what they allow per month, they made an EXCEPTION in my case, and I am enrolled and can receive the care I need! Praise God!

The "Every Woman Counts" program will pay for: 1 biopsy, 1 ultrasound, 1 mammogram, and 1 Pap test per year.

As is His way, God has answered our prayers EXCEEDINGLY AND ABUNDANTLY above what we have requested!

I am so happy, happy, happy!

Thank you all for your prayers, my brothers and sisters in Christ!
