Splashi's Puddle
I'm so thankful that Kess asked me to get back to doing the Christian Counseling study again because I am really needing it right now. A few circumstances came up in my life that I allowed to get out of control in my garden. It took no time at all before the weeds took over, the flowers were choked out and thirsty, and the stepping stones were so covered with dirt I couldn't find them. Praise God that his mercies are new everyday. Today we reviewed Steps one and two which we'd done before and went through Step 3 on God's Grace. The story of David and Bathsheba is a wonderful story of God's love and grace but it's not without a reminder of God's justice and discipline in the death of the baby.
My scriptures today, before the CC lesson were:
1 Tim 4:8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body ye shall live.
Kess and i chose a picture of a beautiful flower garden as "ours"!!

Step 4 ... Forgiveness.. Forgiving Myself...
Sometimes, I go through phases when i think i'll just "lower my expectations of myself" so that I won't disappoint myself so much. Then, I pull myself back together and forgive myself and start expecting too much again.
Well the problem isn't that I expect too much.. but rather that i think i can accomplish it in my own strength.
My only hope is in Jesus. I'm nothing without him.
