guilt

Postby pem315 » Tue Mar 28, 2017 11:20 pm

I was reading Psalm 51 and I thought about David when Nathan confronted him on his sin. I immediately thought on how vile of a sinner I am. How do you get rid of guilt? Please pray for me..

Hello Pem315

God bless you this day.

I find that when I suddenly am overcome with a sense of my own sinful nature and guilt for past sins while reading God's Word, it is a direct result of the work of The Holy Spirit within me. God is Good! Take that opportunity to talk to The Lord, because He is right there with you. Acknowledge His presence, His grace and His love.

It is a true blessing to be in the presence of The Lord. If you do not run from the feeling of guilt in that situation (while reading The Word) but acknowledge Him, ask for forgiveness and thank Him, then soon the feeling of guilt melts into a feeling of blessed peace.

I hope this helps.

God bless you,
Mack

Hello pem 315,

Welcome!

The battle one fights with guilt....I can truly say that you are not alone in this fight. See...guilt is something the enemy of our soul tries to use to keep us under his control. It's one of his weapons. Guilt can consume....but guess what? There is freedom from that guilt waiting in the loving forgiveness that Jesus offers. We just have to be willing to accept that forgiveness....and once accepted we can lay that guilt at the feet of Jesus forever....never to pick it up again. Jesus completely wipes away the sin of the past...Think of it as a white sheet covering up the antiques in an old house....to keep them clean....that's what Jesus does....he covers us with His blood....and cleans away the dirt of the past....

I pray you will come to accept Jesus true forgiveness and be free from the burden of guilt forever.

Take care and God Bless
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.
