The Majesty of the Law of the Spirit of Life

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

The Majesty of the Law of the Spirit of Life

Hello Christianity Oasis, All...

God is the Majesty within the Law of the Spirit of Life

Well, the Law of the Spirit of Life is kind of a unique thing in terms of a topic being explained through a vision. The origin of the law is found in Romans chapter eight verse two. Of course its surrounding verses play a huge role in the explanation of it. Here are the scriptures we need to be concerned with.

Rom.8
[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
[4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

When I sat down to write you I had nothing to write...zilch...nada...sooooo...off the top of my head I decided to explain the significance of the Law of the Spirit of Life...afterall...I still haven't got it up on C.O. yet...but don't worry...what I'm writing you off the cuff is entirely different than the article...at least it is now. I will have to edit the article to reflect the new knowledge I gained via He, the one that opens our eyes. When I read the first four verses of Romans chapter eight concerning the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus a few minutes ago my eyes opened up to see something I had always missed before, that being the key word "law" in verse four. I had stumbled over that little word regarding its relationship to The Law of the Spirit of Life, always interpreting "law" in verse four to mean the Law of Sin and Death or the Mosaic Law. But thanks to the Holy Spirit opening my eyes, I now see that the little "law" in verse four refers to The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. It is the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus that God's desires to fulfil in us.

How so ? We are dead to the law of sin because it was nailed to the cross along with our sinful flesh. Moreover, Jesus fulfilled the law of sin, and it is the Law of the Spirit of Life in Him that has made us free from the Law of Sin and Death. If we be free from the Law of Sin and Death because we walk after the Spirit of Life, how then can we fulfill the law of sin since we are free from it? Jesus fulfilled the demands of the law of sin that we might live in the law of life.

Fast forward to Revelation chapter eleven. Here are the scriptures we must concern ourselves with there...but pay particular attention to verse eleven.

Rev.11
[1] And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
[2] But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
[3] And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
[4] These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
[5] And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
[6] These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
[7] And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
[8] And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
[9] And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
[10] And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
[11] And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
[12] And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

In verse eleven we find that it is the Spirit of Life that enters into the two witnesses to make them alive again. Also notice in verse eleven that it is God's Spirit of Life that resurrects them. Verse eleven could have been written like this. God's Spirit of Life entered into them, or, the Majesty of God entered into them.

Now if we put the passage in Romans together with the passage in Revelation we see that it is the life of God in us through His Spirit that guarantees we will be called up into Heaven just as sure as the two witnesses were. The two passages together are a powerful witness to increase our faith by...and I can't stop writing until I point out that the principle of our spiritual oneness with Christ our Lord and Heavenly Dad places us not only in God and our Lord but also one another and the two witnesses...all are one in Christ Jesus.

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Love, in Christ Jesus, Saint701.
It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
