Question

Postby Danacovertiscool » Sun Mar 15, 2015 12:28 pm

I have a question. Why do people try to force me to not like certain televangelists? I used to like: Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Charles Stanley, Kenseth Copeland, Rick Warren.,and now Creflo Dollar. I'm into Creflo Dollar right now. People like him, don't like him. and are trying to persuade me to not be into him. I feel like I HAVE to change my ways and conform to their likes, dislikes. How can I stop without telling them?

One thing I've come to realize about people is that they will always try and push their opinions on others. ( No not everyone but ya get what I mean)
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, likes, dislikes etc.. This includes you! :) There is no reason you cannot like something someone else doesn't.. agree to disagree and that's that. To each their own. Not everyone is gonna like the things you like just as you won't always like what they like. If these televangelists have helped you then that's what matters. When it comes to televised ministry there are always nay sayers.. there will always be. Don't worry about what they say..juat continue to enjoy what you do.
I myself will watch Joel Osteen, T D Jakes, Creflo Dollar (since you suggested him and I liked the sermon I watched)
It's about the message..the Word..that's what matters :)

You know, Abby, you're right. It's not up to people to say I'm required to like these people. If they don't like them, fine. I'm not going to let them push me to like certain people. I won't worry about it.

I really like Joyce Meyer. But there are a lot of people who get upset if a preacher has nice things. Joyce is a writer and she doesn't get paid from her ministry. But there are still a lot of people who get upset that she has nice things. They just don't trust a rich minister.

Creflo Dollar has been in the news because he asked people to donate $60 million for a new private jet. That is a luxurious private jet. That bothers me that he did that. But I think he is a gifted preacher.

Only God knows the heart. And Jesus said not to prevent people who preached the word. Because then the word was preached.

Other people don't know the heart - only God does. And lots of people do get really upset if preachers get rich - even if they earn their own money with books.

I look at it this way with that jet talk: if Creflo wants a new plane to get from point A to point B, then fine. And he's on sabbatical because he said three weeks ago in the beginning of his sermon, he just needs to rest up and be the man he knows he can be. I really consider World Changers Church(Creflo's church) my family. Even if it has a mostly black attendance I don't care. I don't consider God's children, black, white, etc. we're all one color. Anyway, I think it's okay for joyce, and Joel, and Creflo to be rich and have nice things. I think people want them to struggle like most of us to find out what it's like to have to make ends meet. I'm done worrying about this issue. I'm gonna like him, and that's all there is to it.
