Stepping Stone 3

Postby marnigal » Sat Mar 29, 2014 10:49 pm

I accepted Jesus into my heart over 20 years ago (been a bumpy process!), and I'm still learning to let go. Often I will find myself scouring my thoughts, actions, life for something I need to ask for forgiveness for or that needs fixing because surley there's something that I've missed. Then I end up missing the point of Jesus on that cross!

I love the freedom in this stepping stone to just rest in God's grace. I've found if there's something that God needs me to pay attention to, He'll nudge me or bring it into the light with conviction to ask for forgiveness (no shame involved! then I know it's from Him), but I forget this lesson. So this stepping stone affirms me to simply trust God's Love. I will let His grace cover me, and trust Him that He'll direct me when I need to take action to ask for forgiveness or make amends. He is the Perfect Parent.

There's joy bubbling up inside and a lovely freedom to just let go into God. It's truly a miracle!

God reaches us in the peace. And Satan will stir things up to keep us from being reachable in the peace. And ironically, one way he does that is to tell us that we have something to feel guilty about.

Guilt has its purpose. But that purpose is used up as soon as we fully realize we did wrong and consider how we can make restitution and/or do better next time. From that point on - guilt is the enemy's tool. And if we realize that - we will be much more reachable for God.
Hugs,
Dema
Shame and blame are the devil's tools. With God ALL things are possible.

Yeah, I've been sucked into Satan's game of the need to feel guilt many times over! It's a sneaky one. I'm learning to grab hold of God's promises and believe them for myself. I have a choice in who I believe, it's just a matter of realizing the choice I have.
