STEPPING STONE FOUR
I do forgive and forget because I want the Lord to forgive and forget all that I do.
However, there are times when bad thoughts enter my mind about the people who have hurt me and I
have forgiven and sometimes I’ll get a sickly feeling from the thought. Is this normal? I find myself
constantly rebuking the thoughts in the name of Jesus which is when they’ll go away but, the thoughts
still enter my mind from time to time. Does this mean I haven’t totally forgiven? Is this the devil trying
to trick me? All I know is that I hate when it happens and wonder if this is considered to be normal?

Hello Milliewilkes
God bless you this day.
Yes, it is normal for the enemy of our souls to keep reminding us of previous offenses and having us think on them. His hope is that we'll act on the negative thoughts that he whispers. Continue to resist the devil, and remind yourself that you have forgiven and are forgiven by the love and power of Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit will help you with this, also. Hallelujah!!!
Milliewilkes, you are learning a lot and embracing the Truth well. Thank You Jesus \o/ \o/ \o/
God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Re: STEPPING STONE FOUR
Very normal. But instead of rebuking, Praise the Lord. Sing or just say, "Praise the Lord. God is Good, Praise God. Hallelujah."
Every time Satan tries to throw anything at you - and you will know by the rising and unexpected frustration - then try praising God. You will be surprised how effective that is.
And then, afterward, do again what you did in the first place. If it is unforgiveness - then give it to God again. Sometimes I stick my arms out in front with my fists clenched and my fingers up. Then I turn them over and shake out my hands. That helps to let go.
And if it is triggering - then you say again, "That really hurt me. I didn't deserve that. It makes me mad that he did that to me. It wasn't fair." And you sniff a little bit and stomp a little bit and THEN, you let it go again. Whenever you are triggered, you have to give yourself a bit of time to sniff and stomp. But each time it should be less. Eventually, it should be an hour or so. But I think that maybe forever, when we've been hurt really bad and somebody triggers those memories, we need at least an hour off by ourselves to sniff and stomp and sniff and then let it go.
Kinda like laying down with ice and aspirin after triggering an old football injury. Pretending it doesn't exist or doesn't hurt isn't very smart. It will get you later.
PS. When you have been badly hurt, recovery takes months or even a couple of years. When you reinjure it, then the recovery is faster. Days at first, and eventually less than that. But you have to treat it with the seriousness of a physical injury. I guess God has magic wands - look at Moses. . But God doesn't tend to use them.

Re: STEPPING STONE FOUR
Hey Milliewilkes you are already on step 4...I was away a couple of days last week....and come back to see how great you are doing on the steps. You have received lots of loving support from our sisters in Christ here and all I can add is that the enemy will definitely try and make you bring up bad thoughts even after you've forgiven another....it's part of his ammo....so know you can recognize it....and immediately toss the bad thought in the garbage can....and move past to being able to feel unburdened by laying it at the cross of Jesus and leaving it there.
Take care
Take care
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.
