I really need help.
Hey ya'll, just looking for advice from some religious people. Figured ya'll know something I don't. I'm not gonna do the whole life story, I'll just sum up and say that I have a broken family and I'm really depressed and lonely. I don't know where to find happiness. I do great in school, excel at sports, I'm very musically gifted, girls throw themselves at me, I make friends easily, but none of this makes me happy. I wanna die. I cut. No one knows that I'm so messed up, 'cept my family. I hide it well. People genuinely want to be me. I have it all, but I hate myself. I hate my life. I don't know what to do. Also, a couple months ago I was home alone in my kitchen. All of a sudden, I just couldn't take it anymore and I dropped to my knees. I was crying and I screamed out, "God! Help me, please! I can't do this on my own! I can't go on! I need your help! I'm sorry, I won't keep sinning, just please help me! After a while, I got up and went on with my day, and everything that could go wrong that day, did. What's up with that? I God is real and loves me, why wouldn't He at least give me one good day? I mean, if that day had been different, I'd know there was a God, and he wanted to help me and that he loved me. So how do you explain that? Please respond, I need help.

Re: I really need help.
Greetings to you, my brother in Christ!
Welcome to the Oasis
I hope you find your time here to be a blessing!
I have read your post and will say this...
Why do you feel as though God abandoned you in your time of need? Simply because you had a bad day or a worse day than normal?? I am reminded of the Footprints poem In our darkest times, it is then that God's love carries us through.
Truly I cannot give you the answers you seek because my answers will likely not suit your thoughts. But I can encourage you to allow God to show you those answers. I rejoice in the fact that you DID reach out to our God for help!!! And I am thankful God led you here. I believe your being here is a direct result of acknowledging your need for help! Think what you will my friend, but I believe with my entire being that you are NOT here by chance!
Jesus reminds us of the Psalm (22) that begins with "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me" from the Cross. This beautifully illustrates that Jesus understands our pain and loneliness. Jesus is our Light, our salvation in this world, a world that is otherwise pretty grey when you get right down to it. May this bring you some comfort as you continue to seek those answers.
The Oasis is a very different place than most you will find. This is a true community of faith, fellowship and most importantly, family. I hope beyond anything you feel accepted and welcome and that you find healing on your journey. I hope also that you continue to seek answers as you grow in relationship with God.
I would venture to ask a few other questions BUT I think all of those answers will come in time.
I would like to invite you to consider taking a walk. I think it may help you find some answers and it might just help lighten the load you carry. If nothing else, I know it will help you grow closer to God. http://www.christianityoasis.com/TeenCh ... /Forum.htm
Prayers are with you.
Peace & Luv in Christ,
Lani

Re: I really need help.
Jesus is the son of God. And Jesus is the sacrifice. When we accept JESUS as our LORD then we are saved.
Accepting Jesus means realizing that God sent his son to die for your sins - you are a sinner, and you accept the sacrifice of Jesus. So you NEEDED a sacrifice.
Accepting him as LORD is hard these days. A Lord had absolute power over his serfs. Accepting as Lord means you will accept direction from Jesus. It is about doing - not about sin. He defeated sin so that you can walk with and for him.
There is a Satan, and he will try to prevent you from living the life of abundance.
There are other issues too. If you have been emotionally hurt, then that has to be handled. If someone sexually abused you or if you were repeatedly physically abused or saw someone else repeatedly physically abused, then that is an emotional injury. And it has to be treated just the same as a broken bone would. Broken bones heal crooked and hurt people for life. So do emotional injuries.
And last of all, you could have health issues because of your brain chemistry or the way you eat. And this then would be a doctor issue.
God put us in a physical world. He gave us spiritual laws. And he gave humanity free will to break them. There is help no matter what the cause of your unhappiness is. And I hope you will seek help.
If you do have a buried secret, you can PM me. We can talk about it. Or you can find a man on here to talk to. Or both.
I've found that cutting is generally a result of buried secrets or feeling invisible. And it doesn't seem like you are invisible. However, if your mother treats you like you are invisible - then that is another possible issue.
Jesus heals, but Jesus heals by guiding the hands of the doctor, leading you to the right doctor, guiding the words of a counselor, rocking you to sleep at night as you work on receiving healing in other ways. Jesus leads and guides and puts you in situations to help you grow.
But Jesus does not help you to bury secrets.
God bless you.

Re: I really need help.
Hello Rob. I met God through a prayer of desperation too. Only I didn't realize it till many years later was He really right there intently listening to my prayer and putting things into action. Don't stop talking to Him or searching for Him just because things didn't go the way you wanted them to right now. Praying for you.
Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.
