A Wayward Christian?? Begging for help

Postby popples » Mon May 27, 2013 7:19 am

Am I a Christian or not. I go really good but then turn back to my old habbits. Its like a circle I see it all happening but cant seem to choose the right way then the whole time Im living in sin I beg Gods help. He gives me help then I follow him and the same thing happens the wayward me overtakes, I feel Im going crazy how do I get off this roller coaster?? Does God want me or NOT? Im ashamed to walk with him, but so desperately need him, its definitly a better life but I choose the wrong things.

Dear Popples,

God wants you to go to Him with your troubles. He wants you to give Him your burdens. He wants you to call on Him.
So cry out, "Father, help me!" He will be there for you, as you have noted in your post, He gives you help. He is with
you going through your struggles. Grab hold of Him. Let Him pull you up out of the waters as Jesus pulled up Peter.
And remember to praise Him in all circumstances.

Renew yourself by reading the Bible. Keep seeking His kingdom. It is not always easy. It can be quite hard at times.
Ya gotta keep pluggin! It is a process. But the victory is yours! Remember, He has plans for you, not to harm you, but to prosper you.

Keep Pluggin'

Hey there Popples *hug*

When I read your post...all I could do was think of this song...and therefore I'm sharing in hopes that you will now that Jesus is always willing to meet you where you are...and to bring you back to the pathway of Light. He loves you and He forgives when we ask Him to for our shortcomings in this life.

Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

I'm in the same boat. But what's different is I'm absolutely sure I'm a Christian. If you have the indwelling Holy Spirit you are a Christian no matter how many times you backslide.
I read something online about taking up our cross daily, Luke 9:23-24. This is the key to lasting obedience. You no longer reserve the right to deliberately sin. As long as you reserve the right to sin, you will always compromise. The website is
http://www.buildinghishouse.com
and the article is called
Deny Yourself and Take Up Your Cross.

(Sorry I couldn't give you the url, I'm posting from my phone)

This article was very helpful, and God allowed me to come across it at just the right time. I hope you understand and take in all that it reveals.
I'm rooting for you, and so is God.

Jesus died for your sins. It is about following him. Not about judging yourself. It isn't about trying hard. It is about letting go.

If you get still and breathe - you know all the answers. You could totally counsel yourself. You just need to get still (and sober) and breathe and think about Jesus. Then you can tell yourself everything - because you are well versed. You KNOW.
Hugs,

Hello popples sis *hug5*

I agree with the good advice above.

This one really hit home for me.

:)

I wanted to share with you that overcoming takes time and effort some times. When you fall into a habitual sin you learn something each time and each time as long as you keep trying you fall less often or not as deep. Keep on trying sis. God didn't give up on you, neither should you. *Halo*

Love you
