Meaning of life
Hi everyone, I'm sorry to bother everyone again but I kinda of count you guys as family.
Well I really hate days like this. I'm sitting here looking at jobs that pay minumim wage and hours that no one wants to work. After years of working at a job I would have like to have retired from disappearing practically over night. I'm sitting here thinking what is there to life. Not only do I have employment and financial problems but I have even worse issues besides that. Those issues I'm really not able to talk about. All I can do is just pray, pray and more prayer and then leave it in Gods hands and read the Bible.
Not that I want to be a downer to everyone but, I look around my house and see stuff that I have accumulated over the years and for what? Maybe it is a spiritual awakening from all these problems I am facing, I don't know. But everything I see is junk to me. I can't believe the stuff I have bought over the years that was a total waste of money. I could just kick myself for not being wiser with my money. Now since I am older and facing the problems I have ahead of me I just want to clean house and get rid of everything. It is almost like cleaning out your soul. Sometimes I look at my son that has a 1 bedroom apartment and just the main necessities of life and think " ok that's how we all should be living". I think it is great if you are making $50,000 a year or more but that could all go away tomorrow. Not that I ever made that kinda of money I'm just using that as a round figure.
So here I am slowly cleaning out my house, facing major issues in my life, having issues with fear and deppresion and wondering is this all there is to our lives? Maybe it is just me and not really seeing much of a future for myself. I have no education and the only jobs I have had I kept for years so I didn't get a lot of experience bouncing from job to job. Which back in my day business owners appreciated because you were reliable and trustworthy. Now days it seems like the more you move around the better? Go figure. Now with the changes that the goverment is making a lot of employers won't hire full time employees anymore. Now I'm really starting to get off the subject, sorry.
MY ADVICE:
If you are reading this and you are in your 20's or 30's please listen and try to keep a simple life. Buy a house that you can double up your payments on. Don't over buy on anything, don't buy a car where you can only barely make the payments. Buy a nice used car you can pay off quickly. Don't get a bunch of charge cards only one or two for emergencies. PAY CASH if you can it is the safest way. If you are married love and be devoted to each other. When you are in trouble the one person that can truly be your strength and your pillar " besides God " is your spouse, I know mine has been. Even though I have done some really stupid things " I mean really stupid " she is always there. Not getting after me or yelling at me but being understanding and listening to me. She loves it when I get on here it gives her a break from me talking her ear off.
Don't make the mistake like I did, listen to your elders. We do know what we are talking about.
Well I didn't mean to go off on a rant like that but I have this hurting feeling deep in my spirit and soul. I'm not sure what life has in store for me and I truly hope and pray that God can fix all these problems in my life, " I know he can". I would love for everything to go back to being normal and I can have hope for the future. You guys have always been supportive and I hope you don't mind me getting on here and just cutting loose sometimes. For me it is therapy to sit here and type out my thoughts.
Just as a side note: if you have a business and need a great employee and you pay $50,000 a year call me. I'm your guy .
Don't we all wish it was that easy!
May God Bless each of you,

Re: Meaning of life
Jesus Christ is the one we must look to for all things. With him all things are possible. In times of trouble like what all of us are either going through now or have gone through we must look to him. I know in my case I feel all alone and I find myself on my knees daily and often, going to him with all my troubles. Even though I have family I don't think they realize how bad I feel. With Jesus I can go to him and truly express myself knowing that he is there with me.
I would like to have any suggestions on faith you can give me.
I am facing issues in my life that I truly want to give over to God but I keep having thoughts come in my head that I don't want. I truly just want to say, here Lord it is yours and just walk away knowing he will take care of things. I feel like because of these thoughts God won't answer my prayers and take care of these issues for example:
James 1: 6 - " But when he asks, he must believe and Not Doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." 7: " That man should not think he will receive anything from The Lord;"
See what I mean I feel DOOMED. But I do trust God, so why are these thoughts still coming to me ? I truly hate this and how can I get that kind of faith I see in others. My wife, for one as I have mentioned before seems like she has that kind of faith. The other one is pastor Andrew Wommack I would love to have his faith. That guy has even brought people back from the dead, now that is true faith.
So any help you can give, please I am all ears
Thank,you for your prayers
God Bless

Thank God often. Praise often. And look for the good minutes. Notice that there are minutes when you are optimistic and can really believe. Notice those.

Re: Meaning of life
Hello ElvinH
God bless you this day.
Hounding thoughts are just that...hounding. They are worrying thoughts that "if" you had the solution to, you would apply the solution and no longer think about them, but...those thoughts keep presenting themselves in your mind, and they become a means of torment. Who do suppose would be behind that? I can assure you, it is not God, for God loves you and He wants you to follow HIs lead. God does not bait and then torment His children.
We cannot hear The Lord in His still small voice, when the enemy is SHOUTING worrying thoughts at us. The worrying thoughts need to be silenced. We have the authority in the name of Jesus to silence the worrying thoughts. Speak aloud, because Satan and his demons cannot read our minds, sooooooo, tell them to leave in the name of Jesus. And, each time the worrying thoughts come at you again, then tell them, again, to leave in the name of Jesus.
I realize that we all have many challenges that have "facts" connected to them, and the false teachings of the world and the enemy of our soul would have us believe that the facts of a matter is/are Truth. But, just because there are facts to a matter, does not mean that those facts are Truth. Furthermore, they would also have us believe that we are being irresponsible if we decide to simply not worry about a challenge, but wait on The Lord. Again, who do you suppose is behind that lie? Not God!
II Corinthians 10:4-5 (King James Version KJV)
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
God's Word is Truth, Jesus is The Truth and The Truth will set you free.
Philippians 4:6-8 (King James Version KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
The enemy of our souls comes to steal, kill and destroy. How better to do that than have us worrying and fretting ourselves over something? Worrying and fretting will steal our peace, our joy and can even steal our life, if we allow it.
God has a better way. Jesus is The Way, The Truth and The Life. Let go and let God.
ElvinH, it takes practice to let go of worry, but it is a practice well worth practicing. Remember in Step #7 of the CCCC Study -- the example of flicking the enemy off our shoulder when he is whispering in our ear? If you have forgotten, here is the link to that portion of that blessed Study: http://www.christianityoasis.com/CCCC/StepSeven.htm
I suggest you take the time to read the entire thing. And, you may even want to revisit the lessons taught in the other Stepping Stones of the CCCC Study, as well. God's Word is nourishment to our souls, and we do not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (see Matthew 4:4)
ElvinH, take time to view nature (it is Spring and nature is bursting at it's seams), breathe in some fresh air, pray, praise The Lord, take time to meditate on His Word, as well as time to laugh and enjoy the plentiful pleasures and blessings of the Lord. The Lord is more than capable, and He is willing, to lead in the way you should go.
Prayers are rising to our Lord in the name of Jesus on your behalf. May God's blessed and perfect will be done.
God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Re: Meaning of life
Hello
You are not alone my friend.
One thing that helps me is to look at others and try to help them in some simple way.
Maybe just a smile.
When I dell on me,me,me; I can get depressed.
God is in control........Let HIM work.
Live One Day At A Time.
When I get down...I look Real hard at myself and notice that I have not been grateful.
A simple life can be very rewarding if we Trust in our Maker.
We have no promise of tomorrow upon this ole earth.
This comes to mind as I type.........
Colossians 3:1-4
1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with God
4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
GBU and thanks for the post and replies.
