Prayers and Guidance Sought
I am new to this type of activity so if I am doing this wrong please let me know. I am a remarried mother of two wonderful children in the middle of a custody battle. I am seeking prayers and guidance to get my children and I through this rough time in our lives. I know that I am growing in my faith because I am seeking more and more answers from God than to just be angry and turn away from His lessons. I am very new in my relationship with God. I have just begun my journey through His Word. I am not familiar with Bible stories or verses. I am doing a much better job navigating through my Bible though. I have read Genesis, Exedus, and Leviticus. I am currently in the middle of Numbers. I attend church weekly and participate in Bible Study where we are finishing up with First Peter. In Church we are studying the Book of Luke. I reside in a town opposite of where I work where my husband works opposite shifts from myself. I do not have a lot of friends I can reach out to and basically have facebook as a support system. I am hopefull to hear new things and advice from those who have gone through similar situations as I am currently going through and look forward to Biblical guidance as well. Thank you! Bristollayne

Re: Prayers and Guidance Sought
Hello Bristollayne
God bless you this day, and welcome to Christianity Oasis.
I'm glad The Lord led you here, and am excited to hear you are seeking to grow in your relationship with The Lord. Jesus loves you and your loved ones so very much.
There is a 14-Day Counseling Study (also called CCCC Study) here on this site, that has helped hundreds of souls in their earnest desire to grow in their faith in The Lord, to do a little personal inventory, and also in offering some of the "how to" in applying the blessed Word of God to their lives. I highly encourage you partake in this blessed Study: http://www.christianityoasis.com/CCCC/Forum.htm
Prayers are rising to our Lord in the name of Jesus on your behalf. May God's blessed will be done.
I look forward to seeing you around the site, and getting to know you.
God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Re: Prayers and Guidance Sought
Bristollayne,
It is awesome the step you have taken, I pray that you stay encouraged. I too am kind of new to the site yet I have had a relationship with Jesus for a few years now after a recent low, I redictated my life back to God and the people I've had write to me have been encouraging and it is refreshing.
I want to encourage you to stay the course and I will be praying for you that God will have his way in your life and the lives of your children.
Sincerely with love, your sister in Christ.

I recommend the study too. ANd it will lead you to other studies that will likely interest you.
I also recommend reading the book of John. And Ephesians. And Romans 8. Maybe start with Romans 8 - the whole thing.
Psalms and Proverbs are good to read an extra time a day. You can read one or two verses and get something to make you think.
I also recommend Joyce Meyer - Battlefield of the Mind followed by Beauty for Ashes. In Beauty - I recommend you skip the first part and start after the diagrams of the trees. You can read the first part at a later date if you want to. It's rather triggering. If you feel strong, start with Beauty. After the diagrams. Or even Chapter 5.
