day 3

. I know God has saved me, and that should make me so happy I can't sit still, right? At least at one time it did. But I feel anything BUT happy right now. I am not seeking sympathy, and I know my situation isn't unique. I just wish I could stop feeling so miserable all the time. I don't know how to let go of something I can't control.

You and me are the same in that respect. You are still happy somewhere deep down, but it is covered in your problems, and because of that, it is hard to pull out the happiness. Just like you said about your situation not being unique, mine isn't also, but it is hard to force it down and pretend it is insignificant. Remember, if you are earnestly looking for help, you will find it, and once all of your damaging emotions are gone, you will feel happy again. It will always be a slow process, but once you reach the end, it will be alright.

What I say I say out of sisterly love so please take no offense.

When I read that I believe the Holy Spirit said to me where does it ever say that we should be so happy we can't sit still? Don't let Satan plant that bad weed (lie) in your mind. Not to say we won't at times experience more abundant joy over the gift of salvation but right now is not that time for you and you know what? That's okay, the fact that you know you are saved is all he asks of you, to have faith. That doesn't mean jump for joy but let your soul (mind) rest in his promise.

Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matt 11:28-30

Thank you Jesus!

Thank you for sharing your pain with us, you're a courageous person and you have blessed me this day with your post. :)

Thank you. I guess I'm having a difficult time defining the difference between "joy" and being happy.

Hi red,

Something I was just reading on CO I just knew I had to share it with you.

"There are times when spiritual warfare must be waged to expel spirits of darkness which have crept into the life of the believer. They can be very stubborn about releasing their grip once they've secured a foothold."

God is calling me to pray for you diligently as you are in a serious spiritual battle and trust me I am in one of mine own.

Father God in the name of Jesus Christ at one with the Holy Spirit I ask that your will be done in redbandit's life. You alone know her needs. Fill her with your goodness and grace. Give her strength to take her stand Father. Thank you for what you're doing right now God. You are so gracious and loving and faithful. You alone are worthy of praise. Amen.

Matthew 6:33 states " But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Many times in the Book of Psalms God tells David to 'Fret" not.
As for me, I know God is trying to show me something.
Sometimes this may take prayer, studying His word and patience.

Philippians 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Also,

James 1:2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Living a Christian life is not an easy life. It requires work.

Colossians 3 1-4
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

I hope this helps as you meditate upon His Word in which>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Isaiah 55:11
So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
