Rental agreement.. in the wake of losing my spouse. Please.

Postby ChildofPeace » Thu Sep 27, 2012 1:09 pm

Last week I spoke about my spouse passing away. Now I could possibly be in a position of losing the home we lived in for many years. I need to have an adequate rental agreement made up. An agreement made up that the rent is a month by month basis. Also I want it to state I have the option of staying here for one year without the property owner being able to abruptly ask me to leave. I also want the rental agreement to say that the rent amount will stay the same. Also each party owner and tenant must give the other 30 days notice to vacate. It should say that the owner is responsible for major repairs. I am really stressed, lots of anxiety and grieving over the loss of my spouse. I can't think straight right now. I really need to have something worked up by tomorrow. I can not afford to hire a lawyer at this time, my expenses are limited to just my living expense. I would really appreciate any brother or sister in Christ out there that could help me that is familiar with reality or is a lawyer familiar with rental agreements. This is for the state of Oklahoma.

Hello ChildofPeace :)

God bless you this day.

I am not a lawyer, nor do I have experience in drawing up legal contracts, but I just wanted to let you know that there are Free Online Legal Contracts/Agreement available online, and some by State. If I were you, I'd Google "Free Legal Forms for Rental Agreements online for the state of Oklahoma" or something similar to that wording. Perhaps some of the listings will have a phone number to call, as well.

I'm sending up prayers to our Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed will be done.

God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

I know you are grieving and a I pray for your loss. I suggest you head down to your local courthouse. They generally have free lawyers to help with renters laws. I would also google renters advocates I your area. My prayers are with you.
