You Are Called:)
I have often wondered how God could use me. After all, who am I...nobody important. What resources do I have...NONE! What skills or talents do I have...I like to TALK and I am sure I am a "co-dependant care taker". Bottom line is, I do have a heart for people and a heart for God. So i can start right there,with the gift of 'gab and give'.
One day while I was living in Belize, which is a very poor country, especially in Punta Gorda Town, which is known as the 'lost district". Anyhow, after I had lived there for a year, I returned to the States for a week trip to visit my family. While I was in the States, I bought as many necessary items as I could possibly afford and get on the plane. A few of the items I took back to Belize were a few pairs of Old Navy flip flops, I had especially wanted a 'white pair' there were no white flip flops available in the town where I lived. Anyhow, it was a few days after I returned to Belize and I got up in the morning and prayed and asked God, what I could do for Him that day, how was God going to use me during the day?
I was walking through the town and an old woman came up to me and asked me to give here $5 Bze, which is $2.50 US.
She said I was the only one who could help her, she needed to buy a pair of flip flops. I was in a very big hurry that morning, and I didn't have time to go with her to the store to buy her shoes. In Belize you don't give people money, you get them the thing they are asking for, because so many people 'beg'. Anyhow, I was for a minute mentally and emotionally 'torn". I thought, Oh Lord, i just bought these white flip flops, I have needed them for a long time. Are you asking me to give THESE flip flops to her? I knew that is exactly what He wanted. So I told her I didn't have time to go with her, but she could have my new flip flops. I was in such a hurry I wore her old flip flops, that had holes on the bottoms and the holes were covered with band-aids. She was thrilled and I was happy to have been able to MEET THE NEED of a poor elderly woman. I Thank the Lord that He gave me an opportunity to be used by Him that day. I saw the lady wearing those flip flops for over a year, what a blessing for me and her. So yes, God wants to use us everyday.
I realize that in the United States, it could be embarrassing to wear a 'holey/holy' pair of shoes, but humility is part of giving and loving another.
One of my favorite passages of How we are to be USED of God is in Isaiah 58, this is definately one of my favorites:
6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter —
when you see the naked, to clothe them,
and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,
and your healing will quickly appear;
then your righteousness[a] will go before you,
and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;
you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.
“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,
with the pointing finger and malicious talk,
10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you always;
he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like a spring whose waters never fail.
12 Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins
and will raise up the age-old foundations;
you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls,
Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

Faith is a substance (electricty) of the Spiritual Realm, when you turn on your Faith it makes things move in Heaven and on Earth.
