Step 11, and more of Step 10

Reading about the Holy Spirit today was very interesting. I mentioned yesterday, I never realized that the Holy Spirit was someone we could pray to. I know it probably sounds silly....

Today's sermon at church actually kind of hinted at this, so this is very refreshing, and I see it as affirmation from God that I am on the right path.

A question that has arisen after reading yesterday's and today's stepping stone is about who we pray to. Like I said before, I always was taught that we pray to God, through Jesus, but what if I pray to the wrong person for that situation or for that prayer? I have always prayed to God, (sometimes quick prayers to Jesus, but mainly God) but what if I should have been praying to the Holy Spirit instead? How does that affect my prayers? Does it mean they are not heard because they are not being sent up correctly?
I may have wisdom, and knowledge on Earth
but if I speak wrong, then what is it worth?
See, what we now know is NOTHING compared
to the love that was shown when our lives were spared!

Hello Pert (((hugs)))

God bless you this day.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, The Father, The Word (Jesus), and The Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit, are all 3 God, and they know what you are saying or asking for whether you address it to God The Father, God The Son or God The Holy Spirit. However, there are so many people that do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, but, we Christians do. So, I keep the name of Jesus on my lips all the time. We have access to The Father by Jesus -- by His name and by His blood. We have the indwelling of The Holy Spirit by Jesus -- by His name and by His blood.

The Father isn't going to get insulted if you pray to Jesus or to The Holy Spirit, and same holds true, if you pray to The Father -- Jesus and The Holy Spirit are not going to get insulted and refuse to hear your prayers. They are One, and They all love you, and They all hear you.

Here are a few scriptures that I think will help you understand:

Act 4:10-12 KJV - Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Whom ye crucified, Whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole. (11) This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. (12)Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Mat 1:21 KJV - And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Jhn 3:36 KJV - He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Jhn 14:6 KJV - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1Ti 2:5 KJV - For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

1Jo 5:11-12 KJV - And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (12) He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

There are many times when I'm silently talking to God -- just me and Him, that I don't even say their names (God The Father, God The Son/Jesus and God The Holy Spirit), I just start talking to The Lord. He knows me, and He knows I talk a lot. If I could see Him sitting here in my kitchen with me, I wouldn't keep saying His name over and over, I would just talk to Him. :)

But, when I'm in prayer, lifting up requests to The Lord for others, or even for myself, I usually start off by saying Heavenly Father -- I address Him that way, or maybe sometimes I say, "Father". Some people refer to God The Father as Dad, or Daddy, or Abba. I have always called God The Father, Father. When I end my prayer, I always say "in the name of Jesus. May God's will be done."

I speak the name of Jesus a lot when I'm praising. His name just flows from my heart right out my lips. I love to speak His name. :)

I also want to add, I talk The Holy Spirit's ears off. :) Yes, I do -- well sorta. *BigGrin* I include Him in everything I'm doing -- whether it be doing chores, reading The Bible, watching TV, and even when talking aloud to others -- I still keep a running conversation going with The Holy Spirit. He truly is my best Friend.

I kinda think of my relationship with God like this: God The Father is like the kindest Principal -- One Whom I respect, and even though I may sound a little more formal with Him, I can still feel the love exchange between He and I. God The Son / Jesus is like the greatest Teacher and my blessed Saviour -- I learn so much from Him, especially how to love and to be gentle and show compassion for others. God The Holy Spirit is like the coolest Counselor or Coach. He really encourages me to stretch and reach beyond my own carnal self, to be a better person -- reminding me to reflect Jesus. Plus, He really helps me understand The Bible, and He comforts me when I'm down, and believe or not...He makes me giggle a lot. Usually by pointing out something I did that was so goofy. lol

Pert, I'm excited for you. I know what a difference it made in my own life to get to know God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit, and I know He'll make a blessed difference in your life too.

God bless and keep you, Pert.
Love,
Mack
