Stepping stone 10
Today's reading was really good. I have been reading about having a potent prayer life so this was really quite relevant to me. I pray ALL. THE. TIME. Everyday, several times a day. I honestly feel that 99% of the time, I don't have anybody else to talk to besides God, so I'm always having little conversations with Him throughout the day. I was always taught that we should pray to God, through Jesus (or in Jesus' name), so learning that we could pray to God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit was new to me.
The main thing I've worried about in my prayer life is if I'm praying too much. Not, that you can ever pray too much, but what I mean is, prayer is not supposed to be repetetive, right? But I often find that when I am praying, one thing or another will lead me back to the same prayer, or the same thing I've prayed about a million times before. I'm worried that by continuing to pray for the same thing is like having a lack of faith, thinking that God didn't hear the first one or that he needs to be reminded or something. Does that make sense?
When I catch myself doing it, I just ask Him "Lord, if it be your will (fill in the blank), and if it's not, Lord please take these desires from me" because I don't want to keep dwelling on the same thing and wasting energy on something that may not be the Lord's will for me. But why won't the feelings go away??? It's very distracting and I feel foolish when I find myself continually praying for the same things over and over that may not even be God's will for me!
Anyway, I enjoy being able to pray and talk to God any time I want to, and I hope to just become better.

I may have wisdom, and knowledge on Earth
but if I speak wrong, then what is it worth?
See, what we now know is NOTHING compared
to the love that was shown when our lives were spared!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Pray without ceasing
As for the other part you answered it yourself
I sadly do not talk to Him as much as I should but I have come to the point I talk to Him more openly than ever and I ask somewhat the same thing IF IT IS YOUR WILL
I too am still struggling with talking to the Holy Spirit, I do and have but just as you said all my life when I did pray I only prayed out to God and sometimes Jesus, but mostly my Lord God, so you are not alone in that one either
God bless Pert

It will take some learning on my part to discern when to pray to God, Jesus, or the Holy Spirit, but I am so excited to learn more about that. As silly as it sounds, I had no idea we could do that LOL.

Your prayer life is exactly the way it should be ... at this moment .
Daniel "walked" with God all day (constantly talking to Him) , and ... He prayed (time set aside for prayer only) three times a day .
Jesus was constantly with God (talking about Him all day long) ... He went "away" , aside from it all to pray .
Yes , you are right , and I did the same early in my walk , I found myself at the point where I started asking myself whether I was praying to a deaf god by my repetions .... little that I know , that comming to that point is a sure sign of growth .
Keep up the good work
Luv ya
