Day 17: The Trinity
Its day 17 & I skipped doing the last stepping stone because I was doing my own study on the Trinity. Not being a completely selfish person I sometimes wonder what other people think. One of those thoughts has to do with Muslims & Islam & how come they don’t except Christ. This brought me to start & wonder about my own beliefs and the Trinity.
So I posed this question: How do we as Christians reconcile the Muslims belief that the Trinity is polytheism & that as such we are guilty of what they call shirk? If you look up SHIRK you'll find out why they think WE are the ones who are evil & must be destroyed. The way they have it set up in their belief system the person of Jesus Christ is "associationism," limiting the infinity of God by associating his divinity with physical existence. Do you think that the revelation Muhammad had was from Satan & Satan purposely gave him this revelation to deny the divinity of Christ & make it impossible for a Muslim to convert to Christianity?
I’m still not sure what to make of it. I believe that God showed us through the Old Testament that we couldn’t atone for our sins & that there had to be a sacrifice; blood had to be shed, & it to come from a pure unblemished animal. I also believe that that wasn’t the point. The point was that SOMEONE had to pay & it had to be with their life & since WE are ALL born into original sin; that would be a sacrifice that would be impossible for US to make ourselves. The only answer is that GOD would have to provide the sacrifice & He was a substitute for our sins so we could bridge the gap between a Holy God & sinful man. But I still can’t figure out how you explain that to someone who doesn’t believe that God could come down to earth & become man but still be God. Hmmmmm??? That’s a tough one even for me to wrap my head around. I know God will give me an answer but in the meantime if anyone has any thoughts on the subject let me know.
God Bless

Re: Day 17: The Trinity
God, Jesus, & The Holy Spirit ARE ONE & It has been that way since the beginning!!!
John 1:1 - In THE beginning WAS THE Word, and THE WORD WAS WITH God, and THE WORD WAS God.
Despite what the Muslims or Islam states, I'm researching it & I'm going to keep everyone updated on what I find. The only way God could bridge the gap between Himself & man was thru Jesus Christ! I believe that Muhammad was deceived by Satan & he had a false vision & if any Muslims see this they will put a death threat on me & that alone tells me something about their beliefs. You don’t see Christians ordering death threats on people who speak against Christ!!!

Hello John,
I think it is wonderful you are seeking Truth and thank God for the leaps and bounds He has grown you thus far! *Clap Cant wait to hear more of what you find brother, it is some very interesting stuff and we all should go back and look into the history of our faith, we end up on solid ground and are more effective an prepared for when those who pass our paths have questions reguarding our faith.
If i may share a lil about my own baby steps in my faith so we can all grow from them. I know that when i first became a Christian I had no idea that three faiths Judaism, Islam and Christianity all stemmed from a similar belief of one God and all were traced back to Abraham. So we are all cousins or something along those lines . I used to get caught up in the "Who is right?" thing quite often and it was good for me in a sense because it got my butt into the Word of God and seeking! But in another sense later on after doing a fearless moral inventory i personally felt convicted because my underlying motive was to prove another wrong and me be right. (hindsight my motive should of been more pure) BUT everything happens for a reason, right? It all boiled to the one verse in which i had to find peace with and that verse was "LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF" and boy was that a big OUCH for me LOL Now , dont get me wrong I am not saying in any way that you are me, just sharing my experiences and my own inventory of myself at that time. We share and grow together brother, thats how it works

Re: Day 17: The Trinity
Thank you for reminding me to be aware of my motives & you are right that they are partially selfish. I was going to edit or even delete this post but decided to let it stand. Anyone who has read my posts knows that anger has been a major issue for me all my life. I must admit that anger was at the root of this post but I also am searching for & want to know the truth. I have questioned almost everything all my life & for the most part it has caused me nothing but trouble & led to a lot of my depression. I have been on "The Path" more than once in my life & even though I haven't completely read through the Bible I've read enough to have a pretty good understanding of most of the main issues. Despite that I've been filled with doubt & misunderstanding for which I have prayed for God to remove.
Now for the root of the anger:
I live in NJ during 9/11 & was directly across the river in Newark, NJ when the World Trade Centers were hit. It was a scary time & we rushed to get home because we though world war 3 just broke out. Well since then & every time I see anything about 9/11 it makes me extremely angry!!! I must admit that I HATE them & have trouble differencing between the terrorist & Muslims. Believe it not though because of my renewed relationship with God I wanted to change that so I started to look at their beliefs & what they stood for. To my surprise God turned it all on its head because what I found was in their belief system they have a pretty good reason to believe that WE are the ones who are evil & wrong & they are right.
BUT as it stands right now there is just too much evidence to prove they have the wrong idea not us. 1st Their seed came from Abraham having relations with his wife Sarah’s Egyptian maidservant Haggar. That produced Ishmael the father of all the Arabs & that he'll be trouble.
Genesis 16: 12 He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone ‘s hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers.
2nd Despite what they would like to think it was Isaac NOT Ishmael who Abraham took to be sacrificed to the Lord. 3rd Isaac was Abraham’s natural born son, he was the one entitled to the inheritance. 4th Isaac was the one who God made the covenant with & became the father of the Jewish nation. 5th The writing in the Old Testament all point to the ultimate blood sacrifice that would have to be made in order to bridge the gap between a Holy God & sinfully man. Because sin ugly in the eyes of God the only way we could be forgiven is through the ultimate sacrifice that ONLY GOD could make. HE NOT US, NOT WORKS was the only way & they just don’t get that!
That's why I believe Muhammad's revilation came from Satan NOT God.
