need help

Postby Diane » Thu Mar 15, 2012 6:53 am

I have not been able to sleep through the night I wake up with visions of my son and his interactions at school. They bother me because he looks so sad and dejected and lost his smile. He hasnt been doing well in baseball and he is upset. I am afraid cause he doesnt talk with anyone about it not even me or his dad. So I pray and went to therapy cuz Im getting like heart palpitations when I wake up and my heart feels like it actually is hurting thinking about these scenes. I dont know what else to do to help him then offer therapy, aports counseling or ?? I hurt for him and I feel lost. My heart aches throughout the day and wakes me up at night. I havent found peace about this. Please pray for us.
Thank you,

Hi Diane
First welcome to the oasis, next have you spoken with your son, how old is he?
I'm guessing (by your quote he doesn't talk)....teenager, if this is true then you must know this is the hardest of times as an adolescent, I have a 14 year old and he makes comments on a common public website how bad his day was or how things can't get any worse, BUT when I talk to him (or try) everythings fine or it really wasn't that big of deal
I think there is only one that has the intuition, knowledge or feelings stronger than a mother....God
So with that said I would wonder if this is a sign to you as a mother, I would feel that it is either that or you have allowed this to overtake your mind so much it is causing you to imagine trouble were there is none.
I would suggest talking with your son (I know you said he won't talk about it) he can listen and you talk.
explain to him that which you are going through and that it may stem from troubles he's having and that God is sending you warnings of it as a mother and that all you wish to do is help him in a way he agrees to (SO AS TO NOT EMBEARASS HIM) both you both need this so he can continue to be who he is and you not to worry (we all know a mother worries anyway but we won't tell him that part) *BigGrin*
Also when you are able to pray about this do it in a way that you are asking for God's will to be shown through this and for God to show you the path He chooses for you to take to heal your son and to ease your health related issues
I will keep you and your son in my prayers
God bless

Hi Diana,
Praying that your son will find his smile. Praying also that he will find our Lord in all this. Whenever you see him or speak to him, just remind him how much you love him and what a wonderful person he is, mention all his good qualities. Being 14 is hard, and other kids that age can be cruel.
My eldest son is 19, but when he was in high school, he was sad, sometimes coming home angry, didn't have friends etc. I simply told him, I know its hard now but you only have a few more years, its not always going to be like this, it will change. He is in uni now and he has made friends.
Not a devot christian like me, I place the bible in his room. Even if its just the new testament, which hold the gospels. Sometimes the sight of a big thick bible will make them look away. He took it and never gave it back. My 16 yr old said no,no not reading the bible, i told him i will pay him $100 if he does.
The other option is changing school, some schools are very strict on bullying. you might have to look into which ones. There are more and more christian schools out there too.
We also have many young people who are members here at the oasis, and there is a free councelling service available for all ages.
Pray for your son. I spoke to this young christian, and asked him what made him change his way that he became a christian. He replied " mum prayed for me".
Diana praying that the peace of God be with you and your family.
