uneasy

ok u guys know how this forum is about people who feel called by the Lord? well my problem is the complete opposite.

I dance a lot and sing a lot. People have told me I am very good at it. I really luv 2 dance and sing, but when I think about my future, I get uneasy. I REALLY wanna pursue dancing when I'm an adult, but i think 2 myself 'wait. I'm supposed 2 have a career that's for God. but how does dancing help anyone, much less God?' but I dunno, being an missionary or prophet or something like that doesn't really appeal 2 me, but that makes me feel like I'm in sin when I think that. I dunno wat I should do. wats my calling? everyone around me is telling me I should dance and sing and stuff and i WANT 2 do that but how can I do that for God? any ideas? does dancing and singing please Him?

thx for taking time 2 read this. luv yas ((hugs)) *JITW*

Hello Anime *hug*

God bless you this day.

Take a look at the following verse of scripture:

Romans 1:1 Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

It describes Paul as a servant of Jesus Christ and as an apostle. Paul didn't get paid to be a servant of Christ, nor as an apostle, but it was his calling. Now, take a look at this scripture:

Acts 18:3 And because he (Paul) was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

It seems Paul was also a tentmaker, by trade, and that is how he earned a living (money).

As Christians, we are all called to be servants of Christ Jesus. That does not mean we don't also have jobs, in which to earn money, to support our families.

I would imagine that Christians that earn monies through the arts, such as singing and dancing, are faced with a multitude of challenges tempting them to compromise their heart's purer intentions. All Christians still have their carnal side, which desires applause and admiration, which is contrary to doing something for God's glory. And, the fact that they get paid...well, it just adds more opportunity for the enemy of our souls to slip on in there -- tempting them to grab the glory for themselves. Christian entertainers need lots of prayer covering -- the same holds true for pastors and worship leaders, etc., that earn a paycheck, so to speak.

I have had the pleasure of knowing a few musicians that sang and/or played Christian music, and they readily admitted, that they often found themselves tempted by all the compliments, adoration and dollar signs.

Anime, as far as what your calling is, that is something God, Himself, will reveal to you as you continue on His path. At the same time, He'll give you the anointing and passion for that calling too. God is Awesome!!!

Oh, and by the way, none of the Apostles had name tags or smocks with the word "Apostle" imprinted on it. ;) A tree is known by it's fruit.

Prayers are rising to our Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed and perfect will be done.

God bless and keep you.
Love,
Mack
