Re: Cant seem to forgive.
Heya, sisters,
God bless you...
One thing I wanted to say....God will not bless anyone with anything He chooses not to bless. We are called to stand in intercession for the lost souls....and that is through prayer. I've even seen people praying and fasting for demon possessed...and the unsaved and they were saved. In saying this, I dont believe there is anything wrong with your praying for him to receive the mind of Christ...and to be saved..I always pray as the Lord teaches, to end every prayer with, Your will be done in all things. We are to take our petitions to the Lord...along with the desires of our hearts. Our hearts should be for the salvation of those who are lost. And, of course, God's will be done.
Love you guys soo much!

Re: Cant seem to forgive.
stepping stone 8...the most important thing I have learned is that the origination of unforgiveness is in my mind. It comes down to a choice. Will I relive the offense over and over again in my mind or will I turn my mind over to God to allow Him to bring healing and peace. Of course I choose peace! Now to put into practice what I have learned - Letting God have my thoughts.

Re: Cant seem to forgive.
Sis, forgiveness isnt easy...God knows this. Ask Him to help you.
You are so right. Forgiveness does start with deciding to do so. Sometimes we have to give it to the Lord over and over and over. The word says to take our thoughts captive, casting down imaginations. It also says....whatever is good, whatever is pure...to think on these things..(paraphrased) We are dealing with humans. We are deaing with imperfect, lost, hurting souls who have the same enemy working in their lives that we do. The difference is, we, as saved, forgiven sinners, have someone we can turn to who will heal, forgive and help us. We dont know the stories behind the lives of those who's souls have been hurt or twisted that causes them to do the things they do, but God does. He is their judge..and He knows how to deal with them accordingly.
Taking our thoughts captive and changing them for something that is holy, I believe, wouldnt have been something the Lord taught in His word if it were easy...neither would forgiveness be. We are able to forgive because we have been forgiven for so much.
Not too long ago the Lord led me through a very dark, deep desert place. For nearly 16 months He led me through. Sometimes I didnt want Him there...sounds so crazy, cuz I love Him with every cell of my being, but He had not done what I expected Him to do...at least not in the WAY I expected Him to do it. In the end, when I surrendered every bit of hurt, every bit of anger, every desire, every bit of my will..and gave them to Him, He softened my heart and has begun healing relationships, other people's hearts who were effected in this same event that opened this door to the desert. In my case, I had to lay down my pride and expectations and will...because in reality I was being selfish. I wont go into all the details here about it..but, there is healing for you...for your daughter...for your relationship with her.
I hope Im not rambling here. The Holy Spirit is your comfortor, your teacher, your helper. He will continue to give you wisdom. Keep seeking His will..and ask Him to help you. Take your thoughts captive and replace them with the truth of His word.
I love you, my sister in Jesus. My prayers are rising for you. Im so blessed by your posts..and by what the good Lord is doing in you.

love momo

Re: Cant seem to forgive.
Stepping stone 9 ... sometimes I just don't want to think good thoughts about someone who put my daughter through so much. Sometimes I want to remind God that he said "vengence is mine". There is something about watching your kid suffer. Hmmmm it seems like I am regressing really I am not. My daughter leaves two weeks from today to move out of state. And I am thinking about the pain this young man inflicted on her and how the devil stole so much time away by using this young man to lie and manipulate her. She loved him so much and really thought she was leading him to the Lord. All the while..........he just pretended to know Jesus. Well he is certainly God's to deal with ....God's will be done. I pray my daughter will be blessed since her motives were to see him become a Christian. As always blessings to all of you. Thank you for listening and for your prayers.

Re: Cant seem to forgive.
Hello Wisdomneeded
God bless you this day.
I've been reading along with your posts, and praying for you. May God's blessed and perfect will be done.
I can tell you that The Lord loves you, and as you continue your journey with Him, He'll reveal more and more Truth, because The Holy Spirit of God, Whom indwells you, will lead you into all Truth, and The Truth will set you free. Be encouraged, Wisdomneeded!!! Hallelujah, Thank You Jesus!!!
We do have an enemy, and he goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He'll haunt, taunt and bait us at every turn. We, however, have the power of God on the inside of us, and The Holy will counsel us, lead us, comfort us, and He empowers us.
I encourage you to go back and read your first post here, within this thread. See how God has softened your heart towards your daughter? God is so very Good!!! Now, look at what the enemy of your soul, Satan, is now having you dwell on...the young man. See how Satan is baiting you to be unforgiving, and even to hate the young man now? Only difference this time, is the person that Satan is having you focus on.
Satan is crafty, and very subtle -- a pro at deception. Satan's desire is to steal, kill and destroy whatever he can, and he will not hesitate to use Christians to do his bidding, even to hate another of God's children. I know, you said the young man is pretending...but, you do not know for sure? Only God knows, and we are told by God's Word not to judge another's servent...
Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
I Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.
Ask God to soften your heart towards the young man also. This does not mean that you must encourage your daughter to maintain her past relationship with him. Obviously, she needs to mature in her own walk a little more before she can help another whilst standing strong in The Lord, herself.
Satan will have us constantly look for an enemy in the form of man. He does this to avoid being detected as the culprit. Remember, he is crafty. While God's Word tells us...
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness, in high places.
Continue on the path, Wisdomneeded. God has so much more to reveal to you, and blessings to bestow.
Prayers continue to rise to our Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed will be done.
God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Re: Cant seem to forgive.
Jesus did say we will know them by their fruit. While professing Christianity this person had in fact participated in 3 girls losing their virginity and two more violating purity boundaries. All the while lying about these encounters...to entrap more Christian girls.Could not agree more... Satan is cruel and deceptive. I am sorry if you thought that I am judging this young man's eternity. I am not... All things are possible with God....I have placed him in God's hands.. I am not using up any more of my time or energy on this. Thank you for all of your prayers.
