Day fourteen

Postby Christine_RL » Mon Aug 08, 2011 10:32 pm

 It's been one of those tough days, where those bad weeds want to stay, they want to fill my life with doubt. Today as I exercised I recalled a good seed, "Let go and let God." It's not a long, wordy phrase, yet so often it escapes my remembrance. I am a work-in-progress. I have to continue to read lessons over again and seek new ones. It's a battle to fight those thoughts that say my life is purposeless/meaningless. Right now it seems like nothing is ever going to change and my opportunities seem less attainable. During this struggle I'm trying to remember that God can make something out of nothing.

Hi Christine,

You are not alone in the struggle to fight those thoughts. My 14th day on the program was 8th August 2011 a day before you I completed it. I am also having the same battle to remove the bad weeds that want to stay - those weeds for me are on anxiety and doubt. Yes LET GO and LET GOD is certainly a good seed its planted and need to cultivate it by watering with the word of God. I am also going thru the earlier steps and reading thru the lessons.

*KeepOnWalkin* I am also a work in progress and certainly God will help us to win the battle as we are on the right path. *KeepOnWalkin*

Hi Christine,

We are all a work in progress, you are not alone. And we will continue to be "a work in progress" until the Lord takes us. Amen!!!! He is grooming us and molding us for what is to come, your purpose here on earth and(eternal life in Heaven)AMEN!!! These weeds of doubt and anxiety or fear or unworthiness will go away and new challenges/trial will replace them. As you overcome them, you will have wisdom to help another person over come them.
Please Read James 1 ........very good to understand that through these trials, we grow. AMEN and we start to see Gods purpose for us in our lives. Soon you will start to see Gods purpose for you,and this will replace your weeds of feeling unworthy.

James 1:2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt,.....

Please understand that God is teaching you and grooming you .
Trust in the Lord

Thanks everyone, for listening and for your support. It's been awhile since I last posted something in my journal.

"The pessimist looks for the difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist looks for the opportunity in every difficulty." ~ Nila Koeneke, Guideposts reader

I read that quote above after getting a couple more rejections and I was wondering what opportunity could be found in rejection after rejection. Then I was reminded of the message found in Romans 5:3-5 and James 1:2 (Thanks, Cindy!). After some thought this morning, the opportunity in the difficulty of "rejections" is developing perseverance. It is still no fun getting rejections, but the positive part is exercising the strength to keep on going no matter what. I have to dig in my heels and say I'm not going to give up. The rejections can either make me or break me. They can help push me forward and sharpen me. And today I got another rejection, but at least this rejection was more courteous and acknowledged my art. I have to keep trying. God is working behind the scenes and is bringing the right people into my life and even now after numerous rejections he is in the process of turning my circumstances around. I have to constantly remind myself that "I am a believer, not a doubter" and I have God's favor.

......we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. (Romans 5:3-5)

The following is an excerpt of an article by Melissa Taylor:

Nothing here on earth is guaranteed. If I lost everything, I'd be okay because no one can take away my Jesus. Whether I live in a mansion on a hill or a shack in the swamp, I have my Jesus. Whether the world is for me or against me, I have my Jesus. When I am knocked down, I get on my knees and find my Jesus.

When life becomes more than you think you can handle, don't quit. And certainly don't believe the lie God is not enough. Instead, ask yourself, "Is God enough for me? Then plant His Word deep in your heart so you'll always have the ready answer, that yes He is. He is enough for me, for you: "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:19)

Dear Lord, help me to realize and remember the secret to being content in all circumstances is You. Help me to be aware of Your presence in my life at all times. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
