John's Journal Day 3

Postby humblevisitor » Sat Jun 04, 2011 6:33 pm

Why is it almost all of us find it so hard to forgive ourselves? I don't know if it is true for everyone else but in my case it is because I knew better. I knew the right thing to do and chose the wrong. I can and have forgiven the other people. There are some people who I have nothing to forgive but have gotten forgiveness from them. Maybe it's enough to believe that if God forgives me who am I NOT to forgive myself. I think that is another seed to plant in the garden: that being truly forgiven by God I can forgive myself, try my best to forget and move on. I read the "Lost Love" section inserted in there and I liked the part near the end where he suggests that we ask God to give us something really stretching to do to fill the void and then go do that. I believe that is what I will do.

Hey John :)

Day 3! Whooo hooooo!

Yes, I agree forgiving self is very challenging. We set high standards within our understanding and then continue to return to the "why". Face a storm and it is like "Oh Well... Remember when" and focus shifts.... it cycle remains a slippery slope. Thanks to our Lord for the ties to TRUTH that allow us opportunity to find footing before sliding completely.

Amen! I often have to remind myself that since He has forgiven me, I need to stop returning to the "why" whisper. Why looses meaning when we pause to recall WHO (loves and forgives us [despite our limitations] as we work to overcome). :)

Awesome Seed to plant! May God bring you something that stirs that trust and confidence in Him that dwells within your soul; keep heart and mind open to this calling, as you journey forward.

See ya for Step 4!

Peace n Luv in Christ,
*BlessYou* Lani
