I have been struggling with depression due to loneliness for a long time. I feel often alone, but I know I am not because the Holy Spirit is with me at all times. I am always at my happiest when I am around other believers in Christ inside the church and that is when I can really feel God's presence, but when I am alone by myself I tend to get depressed and lonely and I have a hard time feeling God's presence and hearing his voice. However, I know he is there.

Depression can be very consuming, I understand. You keep thinking to yourself and know God is there with you, but sometimes you just cant seem to shake off those bouts of depression?? That is what I do time to time anyways. And why is it so many Christians struggle so much with depression? Is it maybe because we carry a heavy weight knowing truth and knowing there are so many people who do not believe in Jesus Christ as their savior and we feel like we just arent doing enough to reach out to others? Or perhaps even something God allows for us to go thru so that we don't forget that we need him, therefore allowing him to strengthen us even more... I am not for certain but I know it makes life hard when you don't feel motivated to do anything, when you feel alone and down, I will be praying for you that God will work in your life and help you rise above those times when you feel depressed, that He will lead and direct your path, so that you can find and live out the purpose He has for you!

Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God! I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

I really like that verse, it shows God's strength and that it is not our power but God's.
