Cubby and Pine

Postby kimby » Sat Mar 19, 2011 1:56 pm

Pine has asked us to pray. Cubby's uncle passed away yesterday. This among other unfortunate events has left him and the rest of the family in need of prayer.

Thank you all.

This is the uncle who cubby lived with when in high school. The man is like a father to Cubby. So he is taking this very hard.

The funeral isn't until Thursday. *Cross*

The funeral will be soon.

I didn't go to the visitation. I just didn't feel like I could handle it. I'm making myself go to the funeral. I would rather just stay home and go say good bye later. I won't let myself grieve. I just keep thinking of where he is and that one day I'll be there to. I never stopped to admit how much he cared about me and my family. He didn't hug a lot of people but he always squeezed me extra hard. Sometimes I felt like my eye balls were going to pop out cause he'd squeeze me so hard. His birthday was 2 days after mine. I remember he'd always tease me and say we must be twins. When ever they needed anything they called us. Last week he needed help with something and he said to call cubby cause he's the only one who can do it right. They always appreciated anything we did. One year we were putting up wood for the winter. He and his wife brought out a buzz saw and spent the entire day helping us. It was hard work, and they neither one stopped till lunch was served. He loved making apple cider. I remember him teasing me about how the worms in the apples make it taste better. The first time he said that to me was when I realized there probably are some worms in some of the apples and we are going to drink it! He was always making crazy things. Like a swing set that looked very unsafe to me. But he was so proud to make that thing out of scraps. My kids loved it cause it was taller than what they usually are. I was so afraid one of my kids would fall. And one time one did. Some how he got there and caught that kid before he hit the ground. It was like he moved faster than lightening. I was amazed and shocked. They always got my kids birthday presents and Christmas gifts. It was always such a treat. He was just closer than an uncle. I pray we can support his wife in all the ways she will need. Cancer is an ugly thing.

my dear pine he sounds like he was a wonderful man, maybe God needed someone to make cider and swingsets for His children
I know there is nothing to be said or done that will make this time any easier for you OR cubby so I leave you with the prayers that the Lord eases your pain in this loss and that we all will soon be swinging and drinking cider together with him in heaven
God bless
