I would really like some ideas on this-

Postby Guest » Sat Oct 02, 2010 8:45 pm

I really would like people to give thier opinions as christians on this matter, I am really upset about this and I dont want to do any "acting" out as a result of being so upet but I am in a pretty deep depression over it.
I have been a friend of many, I have helped anyone who looked like they needed it, I have been there for people when no one else was because it was the right thing to do believeing that when it was my turn that I would have the same thing.
My family died while I was in college and since then I have made my friends my familly. I have a saying, Blood makes relatives, love makes family.
SO I had close friends of many years, not many but we had been through alot together. However when I told them that my husband had stage 4 cancer suddenly one started to fade away while the other ones attitude changed dramatically when I told her, what gets me both are christians and one HAD cancer and I saw her through it in our friendship! My very best friend seems to act as if nothing is even happeing to me and has blown me off at times like she never has in our 20 something yr friendship.
I have no one else.
I want to know why?
When the one who had had cancers attitude changed, I thought maybe she was worried that I would end up widowed on her doorstep with a kid in tow and I said something like that to her in a general way that I would never ask anyone for help but go to a shelter if I needed to. She never called me again. I didnt even bother trying to save the other friendship after that and my best friend I stopped telling her anything because she just acts like I never did to begin with.
A question place told me that I pick wrong friends and that I neeed to be sure that the ppl I pal with will be there for me BEFORE i give too much. I aquiese(sp) that although I dont like it. BUT isnt GOD supposed to be there and supply ppl and things to come into our lives at times like this?
I cry every night and dont sleep well, my husband is ok for now but the drs say that wont last barring a miracle and I have no one to turn to and Im going to be alone-What have i done wrong?
I want honest answers and thoughts, thank you.

Hello mysticallytru the answer is the best friend you need is right there beside you...He has never left and He won't...His name is Jesus. We often want others to be there for us...especially in hard times...but Jesus is the only one we need...

Now that being said...a few months ago I was going through a very difficult time in my life...and a friend came to me and said you are going to ones who only know how to fix broken shoe laces for help...they don't know how to fix broken hearts...so don't expect them to be able to encourage and support you through this...you have to go to the One who knows how to fix your broken heart...and find strong Christians who are able to do so as well. Even though a person is a Christian doesn't mean they are strong in the Lord and have the faith that more seasoned Christians do. So...mystically yours...I think God has answered your questions...He has found you some that can help to encourage you through these trials. That is all of us here at Christianity Oasis. I would love to chat with you sometime in the chatroom...and please use the forums to post and share thoughts. Many here will answer and many here would love to be your friend...including me.

Welcome mystically...praying for you.

Take care and God Bless
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.

Hello Mysticallytrue :)

God bless you this day.

I want to start off by saying, I'm sorry to hear that your husband has cancer, and of the prognosis. I'm lifting prayers to God, in the name of Jesus Christ, on your husband's and your behalf. God's blessed will be done.

I cannot tell you why your 2 friends have pulled away. I could guess, but...so could you, but guessing really wouldn't give you the true answer(s). Why don't you ask them?

I would like to talk with you, though. :) I encourage you to continue posting so Mlg and I, and others, can get to know you and be a support to you.

God bless and keep you, Mystically,
Mack

Hi Mystically so good to meet you in chat last evening. Welcome to the Oasis.

Mystically we all need friends. Someone that we can go to in our time of needing to talk, fellowship, needing a shoulder or whatever. That would be physical friends. Well those come and go.....but we have a friend that sicks closer than a brother, that is there when we need them, that will love us through thick and thin and that will NEVER leave us. Although we may feel like it sometimes, He is still there. That friend would be Jesus! You can talk to Him about anything, fuss, cry, kick, scream whatever and He will still be right there with open arms loving you all the time.

I have learned that when I have no one else, I have my family here. They have loved me thru thick and thin and they have taught me how to love God, others and myself. Even tho some of them I have never met face to face, they are still my family.

I said all that to say that you have a family here that will love you and pray with you at any time. You have a Father that will be by your side all the time! I am praying that you find that same bond that I have found here and that you will begin to feel the presence of our Father with you all the time. I will also keep you husband in my prayers. God's perfect will be done in that situtation.

Once again WELCOME to Oasis and I look forward to getting to chat again.

Welcome to the Family!!!!

I can only echo what our awesome sis's have already said.... so rather than repeat it all once more.... I will leave this post as a welcome and ta let you know I also stand in prayer for God's perfect Will to be done.

Although, on a side note....

Cancer strikes fear in many hearts... it is like one hears such and feels the need to run as it "could be contagious". Feeling as though one you love has turned their back on you hurts... when faced with other challenges to overcome, such can be devastating... I am sorry you are depressed as a result.

I will also keep you in prayer for peace and comfort.

Additionally.... I think God has answers at least one prayer cuz He led you to this awesome collection of lovely members in His family to hug, encourage, pray with n support ya.

Once again, Welcome!!!!

Can't wait to meet ya in chat and talk a bit!!!!
*hug5*

Peace n Love in Christ,
*BlessYou* Lani
