How do ya'll prepare?
hey Oey familyyy! :D
God bless ya'll ^-^
I'm thanking God soooo much for having this forum cuz I really need
help preparing for somethin..
I'm attending this Bible college program thing and I gotta prepare a
sermon for this coming week.
The pastors who host this program have heard me "preach" a couple of
times before months ago. They know I've led programs here before and
now they have really high expectations because none of the other
freshman students have done that before and I'm supposed to be the
example. I'm kinda really ascared :/
Normally I'd be totally kewl with it but I'm so so nervous
I've made so many mistakes in the past and the other students and one
of the teachers jumps at opportunities to prove me wrong or try and
debate on topics. I just want His Spirit to flow..and minister to those souls
who need a Word from Him. I kno God gave me this oppurtunity and I
really want to give it my best..
I'm just comin to ya'll askin for pointers on how to prepare nd preach in
front of a congregation ... I personally have a tendency to look at my
notes a lot and cover too much at once.
I kno everyone has diff ways of preparing a bible study or sermon or
anythin... How do you?
Hope to hear from ya'll :D

P.S. ya'll rawk!

Hello FiresGirl
God bless you this day.
Pray and allow The Holy Spirit to lead you to the subject matter. As far as the actual time of sharing it, don't preach, just share from your heart.
I know that the word "preach" is sharing The Word, but we also know that sharing from our hearts how The Word actually impacts us and affects us, is because of a personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus.
There are a lot of non-Christian public speakers who could share what is written on the pages of The Bible, and who could probably impress a lot of peeps with their charm and their skills -- having mastered a technique and memorized the material well. You, FiresGirl, know The Living Word, Jesus Christ.
I personally wouldn't worry about those that like to intimidate. Truly, FiresGirl, you do not have to prove anything to them, and being tempted to take on that mindset, will only reduce the sharing down to a worldly spectacle. So don't receive it, but Pray for them, and then trust God.
Awwwwwww, FiresGirl. God bless and keep you. I'm sending up prayers for ya. God's blessed will be done.
Love,
Mack

Hi sweet young lady
Well, I think preaching the word is a gift from the Lord...and this is the only way to prepare is through prayer and meditation with Him. I agree with what Mack said about you not having to impress anyone...as the Lord will show you exactly what to share and the Holy Spirit will speak through you.
May God Bless your path, and my prayers are with you.
luv ya bunches

Hey Firesgirl
In addition to what had been said in agreement , I can only share my personal experience when first faced with public speaking (and I am confident that is where the "nervousness" is - Not as much as "what to say" , so to speak) .
First off ; Let the Spirit do the talking . I think its in Matt . where it says " When going to court , worry not what to say , for the Spirit will give you the word at that time" , or something to that effect .
Second ; SPEAK TO ONE PERSON - not the WHOLE congregation - The person you think that NEEDS to hear what the Spirit has to say THROUGH you .
And if somebody has to say anything about it , simply tell them to talk to Him about it , see what He has to say .
In Christ , our Lord
