Stages of Spiritual Growth, Part 6

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Stages of Spiritual Growth, Part 6

Hello All,

Good afternoon St. Louis,

You are headed in the right direction if you are reading this.

Few indeed arrive at stage 6. Again, this is our Lord's doing. Here, we pass entirely from the carnal to the spiritual. It is here, if our Lord wills, that we begin some sort of ministry. We may have pastored a church for 20 years, but it is here our Lord's work truly begins. Where before we were being taught, now we begin true service. Again, experiences vary, but it is not uncommon at this point to become acquainted with one's own spirit. As it is written, the spirit of the prophet is subject to the prophet. And how can one know one's spirit unless there is a dialogue between soul and spirit? Our spirit speaks to us, and we speak to our spirit.

We learn that it is through our spirit we must now war. We learn that our spirit is fire, as in our Lord being a consuming fire that does not consume the tree/spirit He inhabits. We learn our Lord within is indeed greater than any devil, and where we may experience a firey trial, our fire within is more that a match for the devil. We overcome the wicked during this time.

Interestingly enough, at this time we look back at some scriptures we previously did not understand. For example, we have always wondered about John 15:16 where our Lord says,

John 16

[15] All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Indeed, we have had many questions about the New Testament that have gone unanswered. But now we have become spiritual. It is during this time that we are made ready to learn the truths concerning our unanswered questions about the New Testament. We are ready to be transformed from glory to glory, to progress more rapidly in our sanctification. It is here that we may set ourselves apart for fasting and prayer. It is here that we are made fit to move on in power. It is here we become ready for stage 7.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
