Stages of Spiritual Growth, Part 3
Hello All,
Blessings!
Stage 3 of the spiritual growth process is most dynamic and dramatic. We find that we are now in such a mess with our lives, we do not know what to do! We may go to church and listen and listen. Or we may read books by many Christian authors. We might even begin watching Christian programming on TV. However it occurs, we realize our need for repentance. We find the need to meet Jesus at His cross, to be baptised into His life, death, and resurrection. We must repent indeed at this point. We must loathe our old life and desire a new one in Christ Jesus.
At this point we are truely helpless and somewhat hopeless, but we dare to believe in Jesus with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength, that somehow He will continue on with us. He is still at work. Indeed, He has been there all along, leading us to repentance. We believe against belief, and hope against hope. And when we do, we become born again! We have been converted and the healing process has begun.
Out go the drugs, the alcohol, the violent tendencies, the promiscuity, the arrogance and the pride. Now we begin to feast on the Word of God. We seem driven to read and read and read as much as possible. Time passes, and after a while we find ourselves quite sad. At this point we seek guidance. We sense there is something more that we must have. But what is it? We know so little of God our Father, so little of God, His Son, and even less about the Holy Spirit. We are ignorant of things spiritual and the Kingdom of Heaven. We have trouble interpreting the Bible, especially the New Testament. Much of what we read remains beyond our scope of understanding. But what more is there? We seek guidance. We search for stage 4, but what is it?
Blessings!

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
