Will B. - Journal Day 12 - Falling Down

Postby Guest » Sat Sep 18, 2010 9:45 am

Well, the truth is that I fall down so often that I don't get the dust knocked off before the next fall.

I have to admit that Self-Control is not a strong point when it comes to porn and sensuality. When I was ten years old, I found a dirty book my cousin had and I read every disgusting, exciting, immoral, story in it. It shaped my view of sex in such a way that I am still feeling the effects at 49 years old.

Please pray for me to find the strength through Christ to fight this "demon" living inside of me. Perhaps that is why I never hear the Holy Spirit...this dark voice is shouting so loud!!

Perhaps this "demon" with in is not with in at all. Instead you live in the midst of a spiritual battle. One where this demon knows exactly where to push your buttons to cause you to fall, then it stands and tosses guilt at you for falling. What a plan they have going on. Something they do to us all.

Check out the spiritual warfare forum and studies.

You have an armor. Just gotta learn how to use it in this area. :)

When tempted, run. Don't even play with the things that bring temptation.

Take care. Stand strong in the Lord bro.

As I read your post, I thought of the Scripture, "Forgetting those things that are behind me, I press toward the mark of the high prize of the calling which is in Christ Jesus."

And I thought how this activity started in your past and needs to remain in your past. One of the devil's most used tactics is to remind us of our past. I often think this is because he knows what his future holds. When the enemy comes to me with my past, I often remind him of his future. That he has already lost the war. That he will spend eternity in a lake of fire. I also remind myself that my past has been forgiven. That what right do I have to bring up what God has not only forgiven, but cast as far as the East is from the west.

I also work very hard to do the second part of the Scripture which says - I'm pressing toward Him. My best defense against my past, against the bad, is to focus on the future to focus on the future. What I'm saying is when the negative comes to mind, instead of dwelling on it (or beating myself up about it) I start putting the positive in. If the negative is so overwhelming that I can't focus my prayers or read my Bible, I start listening to Praise and Worship. It never fails.... in the beginning it's just music, but pretty soon, it begins to well up within my heart and within my soul. Pretty soon, I'm rejoicing and have forgotten those things that were pushing me down.

Most of all know that I'm going to be praying for you. I know the enemy fights hard, but I know also that "Greater is He [Jesus] that is in me than he that is in the world."

Will, I think that when we want to truly surrender to God that means we have to give up all control and we have to be willing to do that. I know that is not easy for you...and there in lies the problem...in order for you to gain control over your life...you have to allow Christ to become the head of your life...you have to make Him first and foremost above all things...and that means work, family, thoughts, hobbies, etc. I guess the question is are you ready? Are you willing? Or Are you still teetering on the edge of indecision and therefore falling down constantly cuz the pull of the enemy is stronger than the pull of the Lord in your life?

Praying for you.

luv ya

Is there a lesson on Absolute Surrender?

Postby Guest » Sat Sep 18, 2010 3:01 pm

Apparently, I may not have gotten it right. I say and I mean it. I want that peace that passeth all understanding. But, perhaps in my need to be in control of my life, I may have missed some surrender.

CO...or someone else....what does surrender look like to you? What steps do I need to take that I haven't.

Had to draw in the sand a lil longer on this one ...

What does surrender look like ...

LONELY from one point of view and FREE from another.

TRUTH?

You have a few issues in play at once.

Your HURT soul and your ... Vices.

One is action and one is reaction, despite origins of the reaction. It was an easy and ... Convenient escape.

Here is Wisdom ...

There is no man who will be spoken to and hurt as you are who will not retaliate in one one or another, tho outward appearance may appear as being ... weak.

He that hath ears to HEAR ... Let them HEAR.

She is wrong ya know ... There is MAJOR diff between weak and meek.

God knows the diff.

Show Him you are willing to surrender THAT ONE THING if it is what is between you and He.

The end result will show you are STRONG in Him and whether this impresses her or not matters lil ... It will impress YOU and bring hope which is a step towards Faith and a renewed life in HIM.

Hebrews 11:1 ... Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Luv ya bro
Jesus is coming ... Get your soul prepared.

There's a song...that we sing at my church...I want to share the words of it with you...time to surrender all. luv ya my friend

All to Jesus, I surrender;
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Humbly at His feet I bow,
Worldly pleasures all forsaken;
Take me, Jesus, take me now.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel the Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus, I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power;
Let Thy blessing fall on me.

I surrender all, I surrender all,
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

All to Jesus I surrender;
Now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to His Name!
Do you know my Jesus? Do you know my friend? Have you heard He loves you? If not, I'd like to introduce you.
