I'm at road block in my life.
Hi my name is Bridget and I am 29 years-old for so long I thought I was living this life of happiness of joy but for the last 8 years I having been experiencing a life of hurt and pain. From past issues of my childhood with my mom not really being there wanting to have a mother I'm daughter relationship but not being able to have that bond searching for my father who lives in the same city as me but not sure how to contact him. And on the other hand I love my ministry I'm the youth Pastor and Second assistant to the Pastor but i a have become frustrated and bitter with the people in ministry because theres always a issue about whose the closes to the Pastor or something that is being done wrong i feel like I am failing in ministry. Some days I seem to can't shake this depression I have crying spells I am in constant fear that no one loves or care about me I feel cursed and still am blaming my mother because I feel that it is because of her that this curse is on my life. the fear of trusting no one how to love people that God put in my life afraid to talk to speak up or truly show people who I really am. Waiting for someone to affirm me and when it doesn't happen I am upset, bitter, and frustrated. I went through a season where my pain begin to show on the outside I begin cutting my self and also wanted to commit suicide on several ocassion but there was a still voice why I am still here. Please help me I just want to release and let it go. I want to heal from my broken past.

Hello bridget9, welcome to the Oasis. We are so glad the Lord has brought you here.
Bridget, I often hear many say how the past is still affecting who they are today...and it affects not only how they feel towards other people and situations, but affects their relationship with God. Our past should be a testimony that God can use to bring glory to His name...but instead the enemy will try to use it to haunt us over and over. If you have a moment...look at your past through God's eyes...through the blood of Jesus that has washed all the pain and iniquity away...and made you a new creation in Christ...then you will see that joy comes from grace given to us by the Lord.
As for your ministry...one of the key things is to remember to please God always and not people. Yes we look to others wanting a kind word or a pat on the back...but ultimately we don't need that...we need to just know that God sees all things and adds a reward for us each time we do something to further His ministry. And no we may not have an immediate reward...but it is worth the wait...so continue serving God...and doing what He asks...and seek your rewards from Him and not man or woman.
I'm so delighted you are here...I can't wait to watch you grow and heal from this study...and in becoming closer to God.
Please come visit us sometime in the chatroom.
Take care and God Bless

That bitterness can eat you up and steal from your life. For yourself it's best to forgive them for all offenses. It will bring you peace and we are asked to forgive. Not easy yet it is the right path.
You're going to love this study. I'm going to enjoy watching you overcome with Christ with in the next few days.
As far as who's closest to the senior pastor...concentrate on Getting close to God for it's Him you work for not a human. Then who is closest to this man won't matter to you.
Hang in there. There's better times ahead. By the way, I for one am glad you listened to that still small voice that reminded you why you shouldn't commit.
God loves you and so do I!
All to Jesus I surrender. I surrender all.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Hi Bridget and welcome to Oasis
Bridget..surrender isnt easy. Releasing the pain from the past, knowing the Lord has a calling on your life..and will use every situation you have been in for His purposes and at the same time will heal you from all that you have been through....none of this is easy to believe in. We know what we are taught. We know what we see in front of us. We let this life and the people around us define who and what we are and sometimes fail to see that we are only defined by God, our creator.
He created you for a reason. You are His child, created in His image. No man or woman defines you. You are His passion and His glory. Your life is not your own. Im praying for you along this path. Im so glad the Lord led you here...He is calling you to a new place, with new hope..one you havent experienced yet. Keep walking though.. He is leading you and wont let you go.
You are in every prayer. May His perfect will be done in your life.
In Jesus,
luv momo
