Hi Momo!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
I had a somewhat similar experience with my Mom (she lived in Minnesota and I live in Idaho). Three years ago, the week after Christmas, I felt compelled to call my Mom. She was living alone in an assisted living center but did not have someone checking on her daily. I called her three times that day but there was no answer. I assumed that my brother had stopped over to take her to see Dad at the nursing home and perhaps over to his place for dinner but I didn't call him to confirm... I called the next morning and still no answer so I called my brother. His wife answered and said Mom had fallen getting out of the tub and laid on the floor for 36 hours until she was found by my brother.... Obviously, we got her a life alert button after that... I beat myself badly over that one for awhile... No second quessing after that one. If Mom didn't answer, I was calling my brother and the office of the assisted living center.
I tell you that story because I finished day 4 today. Self forgiveness was crucial in the above story....
In my first post, I mentioned that our marriage was in a winter season. Have you ever read the Four Seasons of Marriage? A marvelous book and an excellent resource for all married couples. Today's lesson convicted me in several ways. I am quilty of granting partial forgiveness in several areas. Clearly there is room for significant improvement here (on my part) and I will be talking with my wife about this lesson this evening...
Sequeing here, suicidal thoughts. I have not had any since I started the course! Hooray! The first lesson was incredibly helpful to me. Your comments are well placed and further solidify the key points of lesson 1. Thank you!
Sequeing again, today my wife and I visited a new church. Wow, were we in for an awesome treat! This church had a 1-1/2 hr passion play. It was absolutely marvelous! Very solid message that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That Christ paid the penalty for our sins and that we are saved by grace through faith. Awesome! They also passed a bulletin of upcoming events this month and I saw several things that I would love to participate in... Great! This very well could be where the Lord wants us to be!
Best and God Bless,
Rick

Doors are beginning to open. God knew just what you needed most rick...and that was a dose of His Spiritual medicine. Things are beginning to heal between you and your wife it seems...as you are talking more and becoming closer and this is exactly what God wants. He needs the two of you strong together for Him.
Step 4 is forgiving...and that includes forgiving others and yourself. Work hard on this...and you will find peace that comes to rest with you as well.
luv ya

Hi MLG,
You know, you are so right! I feel 1,000%, no make that 10,000% better than last weekend!!! I was being very self centered, self absorbed, and pushing everyone away... Now I have my two best friends back, my Lord Jesus Christ and my dear beloved wife! I have been a bit fragile, tears have flowed on more than one occasion.... But that is a good thing! Praise the Lord, I'm feeling again!!!
Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and for caring, even though you've never met me....
Best and God Bless,

Welcome
Hi Rick;
I also want to say welcome to Oasis. I am myself quite new here. Been here a whole 6 days now. Well i trust that God will change your life, and your relationship with Him. May I say a prayer for you?
Father God, I bring Rick before You my God. Lord, as You have brought me so far Lord I pray that You will please enfold Rick in Your arms of Love and Father God, I pray that You will comfort him, encourage him, Lord bless him in Jesus' Name.
Father God, I ask that You will open new doors for Rick in every area of his life, in his job, I pray that You will bring in New Funding, in his marriage I pray that You will bring reconciliation and Father, most important of all, bring him back to You my God. Reveal Yourself to Rick as You have never done before. Give him wisdom, strength, peace and joy like he has never had it before my God. Father I pray in the Name of Jesus that You will intervene in Rick's life and the lives of his family Father. I cut off every plan of satan in Rick's life to destroy him, to break him, his relationships in Jesus' Mighty Name. Father God, I pray in Jesus' Name that You will do miracles in Rick's life in Jesus' Name. Lord manifest Yourself in and through Rick's life please my God and I thank You my God for the testimonies that Rick will bring of Your glory and mercy in Jesus' Name. Amen
Be strong Rick and have a fabulous journey on this site.

Hiya, bro. God is sooo good. I hear a new hope in your words..and joy! His peace and joy!
forgiveness of ourselves isnt easy cuz we have an accuser who constantly whispers his lies into our weaknesses. But what the Lord has forgiven..who are we to hold on to? Do we believe His grace is sufficient and His blood enough? I have to ask myself that all the time
ive not read the 4 Seasons of Marriage, but ive read the Love Dare. Its an awesome awesome book even for singles...the very foundation of love and what its meant to be in every relationship in our lives....the way Jesus loves us and wants us to love one another.
Keep goin through the steps bro. He has much He wants to show you. You are your wife are in my prayers..as in many many others here.
God bless you!
in Jesus,
luv momo

Hi Sweetlittleangel! Thanks for the words of encouragement! Are you okay? Did you feel any of the aftershocks from the quake in Indonesia? Prayers for the hurting people there...
Hi Andre! Wow, such an awesome, timely prayer! Thanks my brother! I've sent you a friend request and hope to get know you better.
Hi mlg and momof3! You two are awesome!
Day 6. Miracle Grow. Fascinating, appropriate lesson. I really like the homework assignment. I've been mulling over different options and come up 5 starting items for increasing communications with the Lord, 2 for improving my marriage and 3 for personal growth & well being. Day 6 has been my favorite lesson thus far!

Day 6 is a great one. The miracle grow charts really help us to learn to be more in touch with the Spirit in our day to day life, because we have a reminder to spend time doing things that are pleasing to Him. I'm glad you enjoyed today's study as well. There's a lot more to come.
