I give up :(
I'm sorry but I am giving up. I can't seem to stay away from the frustration and anger a day and then I feel totally depressed again. I don't know how to find my way out.

You don't seem like a quiter to me.
I pray that you would keep pressing on.

Hello Iwanted
I'm Mack -- wife and mother, and a child of God.
I've read your posts, and have been praying for you.
I just wanted to shed some light on a few things. Those of us that had overbearing parents -- demanding, controlling and those that communicated to us as if we were the hired help as opposed to talking to us as if we were the precious loved ones -- Well, it's very easy for us to take on their behaviors.
What? Yep, it's very easy for the children of those demanding and controlling parents to become demanding and controlling themselves -- but, with a twist. Their confidence was shattered, but what was taught them is that they overcome fear or any challenge with anger. Anger is very powerful.
Sadly, anger just adds to the problems -- especially to those who have not dealt with repressed anger, from those years they were not allowed to adequately express themselves, for fear of being totally rejected.
So then they find themselves as adults, with all those emotions and not a clue how to deal with them. Why would we want to act out like the very people that caused us so much frustration? But, when the pressures of this world mount up, that seems to be exactly what they do. Because we were not taught otherwise. We may have also learned and acquired some other bad habits on the way to mask our frustrations and anger -- ways to manipulate, put on a fake smile when the occasion demanded it, etc.
Eeeuuuuwwwwww!!! So, now at the age of "well into adulthood", we are supposed to start all over? Sounds nearly impossible, but NOTHING is impossible with God.
Most that have gone through this type of life I've explained above -- they/we are very creative and industrious. Surprisingly, many don't recognize it, but LOOK, the proof is in the survival. We're still here.
Change seems hard only because it is different. God is not asking us to make these changes on our own. Imagine -- yes, I said "Imagine" -- Imagine Jesus is walking right along side with you throughout your entire day. Even though you do not see Him, He's there. Ask The Holy Spirit to remind you to do this...to imagine Him right there with you.
Jesus is our salvation. It is through Him that we have a promise of eternal life. AND, He helps us along during this temporary life here on earth. No, He's not going to prevent all the bad things from happening or trials and tribulations from coming our way, but He has empowered us to overcome.
For those who accept Jesus as Saviour, The Spirit of God indwells them. He will not leave us nor forsake us. However, we still have the choice to walk away from Him and to walk away from salvation. I pray you truly consider your options, before you make decisions.
The Holy Spirit is our Comforter and our Guide and our Teacher. God's grace and forgiveness is extended to those that receive His Son, Jesus Christ, and who continue in faith. The salvation process is just that -- a process. We don't turn into perfect little images of Him overnight. But, He works from the inside out, and He knows exactly how long it takes. There are awesome blessings along the way. Only requirement -- we have to be present to receive them.
You are in my prayers. God's blessed will be done.
God bless you.
In Jesus and His love,
Sister Mack

Hey Iwanted
Everytime I mentioned "I quit " or "I'm throwing in the towel" my mentor always responded with "What's the other option ?" or "Do you have a better option ?"
Taking a look at your user name , first thing I notice is that , its in the past tense . And that's how you were describing yourself prior to coming here . Then I read your earlier posts , and I started seeing smiles and lighthearted comments , hope , and something to look forward to .
Then I come to this post , and I'm thinking , "What's the other option ? " ,
"Do you have a better one ?"
In Christ , our Lord
luv ya

Hello i wanted,
Although Satan is out to ruin and discourage you, God has something better in mind for you.
you have a community of people out here who care about you enough, in spite of not actually knowing you, to still be here if you ever want to talk it all out, but i think most of us get it that sometimes you just can't write, whatever the reasons.
no towel throwing, please! maybe just a sign on the door that says closed for the season

Keep digging in Shannon... can't say anything more than what our brothers and sisters have already said...
I echo loudly He HASN'T GIVEN UP ON YOU
There's so much in store for you Shannon here... He never said it would be easy but that the trials are ultimately worth it...
I continue to keep you in my prayers... luv ya too!

Just the beginning
I was thinking about you last night while I was watching TBN and I heard a song that filled my heart and just knew it was written for you! It's called Just the beginning by Kurt Carr & the Kurt Carr Singers. I took the liberty to write some of the lyrics down for you and goes something like this:
Just the beginning...there's soooo much more GOD has instore
Just the beginning...It's not the end, this is just the overture
Just the beginning...I know you're blessed, but you still haven't seen GOD's best. Not yet.
I already know GOD's been good to you
I already know GOD's been faithful to you
I already know he done some incredible things
But I declare and I decree, I prophesy with Authority
You haven't seen your best days yet
You haven't seen your greatest victory yet
This is just the beginning...Do you receive the prophecy
In your heart you know what GOD has promised you
Never compromise or settle for less than you're due
Sis, GOD talked to me last night and wanted me to share this with you today. He doesn't want you to quit....Please Hold on because I already know I haven't seen the things GOD sees in you and I already know it is going to be Awesome. Please Hold on....Listen to the song because GOD is talking to you thru me. I'll be praying for you.
GOD bless you.

I'm glad to see you and sleepless found each other.
Beautiful words sleepless.
Take it one moment at a time Iwantedto.
One moment at a time. And lean on Jesus with every step.
If you can't move forward just rest for a bit with Him, by reminding yourself of his great love, mercy, power, and plan he has for you. I hope you know he loves you. I pray you do. I mean really really loves you. A love far greater than what we find here on earth. A holy love that puts no conditions on it. A never ending love.
Take care. Look at it this way. If you move forward an inch, you're an inch closer to healing. If you don't move at all, then you still are closer than you were.
Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

iwanted...when we set goals for ourselves sometimes we set them too high...you mention your giving up because you can't stay away from the frustration and anger even for a day...how about for a few minutes...or an hour...or two hours...instead of trying to make it a whole day.
I was once very overweight...and I lost over 100 lbs...but I had to loose it one pound at a time...one day at a time...and it took me years....but instead of trying to make it a year at a time...I set a small goal of loosing 3 lbs...then 5 lbs...then 10 lbs..then 15 lbs...I started out small and then added as I achieved....so my point being is to show you that to shed the frustration and anger...it may be hard to do this for one day...so how about starting with 3 minutes...then 5 minutes...then 10 minutes...then 15 minutes...adding to your goal as you reach the previous one.
I sure hope you won't quit sis. I've seen you growing already....and you were moving forward...please pray on your decision and ask God what He would have you do sis.
luv ya lots

Dont put so much pressure on yourself, where you feel that because you dont see progress that progress isnt happening.
When you plant a seed underground, you dont see anything till it pushes thru the ground and u see that little seedling emerge. But all the while that process was taking place below the ground, where it was not visible to others.
Think of how many years our habits and behaviours took to develop. For many its a lifetime. So we need to understand that it will take time also to break free of them. Time and dedication. Like learning a new language.
And then putting it into practice is another step.
God knows we arent perfect, and the pressure we feel is from ourselves and rarely from Him because I believe that tho He is more than able to work an overnight miracle, He allows the changes within our hearts to happen slowly and over time, so that we can truly learn the lessons we need to and so that we can truly appreciate the changes that come.
Anything worth anything takes time.
Dont be discouraged. Be encouraged that you recognize that there are things that need to change. This is a lifetime journey and process of growth in preparation for what is to be.
God bless u
