Urgent prayer for my dog and her puppys!! .... please
urgent prayer neededfor my dog. She gave birth Christmas day....first coupld days she had to much milk and pretty much over night/day it has like dried up....to much!! The pups r crying and i cant sleep dont know what to do . has been about 2-2 1/2 weeks now since mattea actualy wanted to eat a good meal and she also isnt drinking which is why the milk is going away i guess . please please please just keep her/us in prayer that what ever is making her not eat and drink will stop and that she is ok soon!! i can bottle feed the pups if i have to (but i pray i dont!!) ....i just want my baby to be ok
the only thing the vet said is if she wont eat try canned puppy food....ive tryed EVERY thing a dog should want to eat and she just doesnt have the desire for any thing....she did eat some plain dry turkey the other night but that is about it and its not near enough to keep her alive and healthy and the pups!!

Hello Kess
I'm glad to hear your doggy is doing a little better. I continue to lift her up in prayer. God's will be done.
I also wanted to say that you can feed your dog cottage cheese, cooked rice, scrambled eggs, and hamburger or chicken -- all without added salt. Sometimes when they are in a weakened state, the thought of munching on hard dry dog food doesn't seem to cut it -- and even regular canned dog food may be a turn-off to them -- too greasy or fatty.
We feed our dogs a small amount of dry dog food, but we also feed them cooked rice mixed with cooked carrots and cooked chicken or turkey or beef every day. (No processed meats) We also feed 3 small meals a day, and a couple times a week breakfast consists of a tiny amount of a good quality dry dog food and a scrambled egg. One of my dogs is diabetic and has to have insulin shots twice a day. He was withering away and actually had a pancreatitis attack (poor little fella) once after he became diabetic, but since we started making our own food for them and been feeding them 3 times a day to help keep insulin levels more balanced, he's improved so much that our vet even asked us what we've been feeding him so he can tell his other patients' owners.
God bless you, Kess.
Love,
Mack

Hey mack!! I actually have been feeding her all of those things you mentioned . After my 3 yr old dog had to be put to sleep because we could not get her diabetes under control (even with daily insulin shots etc) and she also had hypothyroidism and pancrease problems a LOT also....we lived in fiji at the time and vet care was not so good it was very hard and i still miss her a lot she was a great dog. But during her life i started researching dog food and was horrified at what i found. I started feeding her the barf (bones and raw food) diet and she improved a bit but sadly it was just to late for her . So now with mattea i make her dog food myself and also she has innova or orejen dry puppy food always in her bowl if she wants it but usualy she ignores it . There are very few commercial dog foods that are actualy ok to feed to a dog sadly!! Its horrifying what they put in dog foods and how its made....no wonder dogs have so many health problems these days and at young ages also!!
It has actualy been scientificaly proven that dogs can/should live 20+ years!! There is a couple in the states who rescues newfoundlands and they make there own dog food after finding out whats in commercial dog foods....their dogs live up to 18 and even 20 years old and very few have the serious health probs common to that breed. The average life span for that breed is 8-12 years!! Any ways idid not mean to ramble on like this....its just frusterating how the world lies to us about things we and our pets eat ya know?....they hide all those little (and big) details and pretend its the best thing on the market!! ugh
Im glad ur dog is doing better on home made food to!! Amazing what real good food can do eh? Its the same with people also!! If we eat the things God made for us we can be so much more healthyer. If u ever want to swap doggy food recipies or if u want a variety i have lots of good ones i feed my dog and will feed her pups as well. Thanks for the prayers and iwill pray for u and ur doggy to!!
God bless u all!!
kess
PS (always wonder what the p and s stands for ) - mattea is still eating well now and the only prob seems to be she has no milk coming out on one side....its odd but as long as there are a few nipples working i wont be to concerned i guess but still curious y those 3 just stopped up!!

Hi Kess. Glad your doggie is doing better. Sorry I was away or would have answered sooner. Now, here is what I thought.
Is it possible that the milk didn't dry up but that the pups are nursing off that side so it is empty and the other side is still full because of a problem?
Feel the full side to see if it feels hot, hard or lumpy.
If it does, you can put warm compresses and massage on it to try to get it going again.
If it is definitely dried up, it could have been that she had an infection in her milk and the antibiotics dried it up.
What kind of dog is she? How many puppies? You can offer milk replacer or goat milk to the puppies once they start drinking on their own. You can also offer milk replacer or goat milk to Mom for extra nutrition.
I have my dog on a prepared raw diet because she has so many food allergies. My vet laughs because I cook it because my dog is very, very affectionate and I don't want raw diet on my face. Then it's not good for them to get cooked bone so we have to pick out the bone pieces. I love my dog.

Im not sure....she has milk i can feel it but it just does not come out....there r no lumps etc though so her mastitis is gone yay!! She is drinking some milk replacement formula and she likes that. I guess the pups could just prefer that side so it will take time to re-make the milk idk.
She is a yorkie-poo and the dad of the litter is a white toy poodle....so the pups are 1/4 yorkie and 3/4 toy poodle and very cute!! u can see pics of them in my photo gallery thing here at oasis. She had a runt boy born first then another boy then the girl....all very healthy but the runt of course is not as chubby but just as cute .
That is awesome that u make ur dogs food to!! Yes u have to be so careful with cooked bones!! My dog loves to snack on raw meaty bones....and i dont let her lick my face that day ewwwww. Thanks and Gbu!! kess
