Mental Abuse

This forum is for those souls 18 years and older who are dealing with some type of addictive behavior whether it be from alcohol, drugs, overeating, fear, worry, sex, etc. Only with help and guidance from God can we ever hope to overcome these addictions. What is impossible for us to do IS POSSIBLE with God. Friends and family of those stricken with addictions are welcome to share as this problem affects more than just the soul entangled in its web.

I have a daily flip calendar with words of wisdom accompanied by applicable verses. Sometimes, a days writing will speak to me so much I leave it there for several days. This writing has stayed with me since September 24th. It is from "Stress Fractures."

If you live intimidated by people, then you need to come to terms with your lack of peace. God is bigger than any person. Learn to focus on people through the lens of God's eye, and you'll never see anyone even near His match.

Hebrews 11:27 By faith moses left Egypt, not fearing the king's anger; he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.

For me, it is a moment to moment struggle to see people through God's eyes. When you are mentally abused, it is terribly difficult to weed out what you've been dished. But I know that if I can accomplish this, then I will gain the peace He wants for us. Even for my former abuser.

God bless and keep everyone. Luv you all.

Flute
My resolution for today, next month, and years to come is to be further from the world and closer to the Word.

lol comfy you are something else.

You've blessed me with your post. You all have blessed me. I come back here often and reread.

Your kind words make me tear up. Your verses strengthen my spirit. Praise God. He is good. *Cross* *JesusSign*
*angel7* Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Thank you so much for this post I have really been blessed by it.
Comfy thank you for these words
We are not "made perfect by the flesh"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (in Galatians 3:3)

Abusers have criticized us for not meeting their demands for what our flesh does or does not do. We do not need to try to be perfect in the flesh the way they wanted.

Nor do we need to go along with how this world would have us conform in our flesh and what they say to do, trying to oppress us and make us clones of what they expect, so they can *use* us.

We do not owe these things to anybody; and we do not owe to ourselves a lot of things we have been requiring of our own selves >

"Owe no one anything except to love one another,
for he who loves another has fulfilled the law."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .(Romans 13:8)

Plus, no one else owes us, that they do what we want their flesh to do. So, if we ourselves have been trying to *use* people to do what we want their flesh to do for us . . . this could be why we are still suffering and worrying about what others have demanded of us. How we are being with others, can be what we are reaping, ourselves. Are we first about pleasing You and obeying You, and caring about all others as ourselves, rather than trying to just *use* any person, at all?

This ministered to me greatly!
