Mental Abuse
I have to come up with four verses to memorize and use to combat the memories of the mental abuse when they come back to mind.
I'm going to post my findings here and if others have verses they like to post, then please do.
I'm hoping to have a bundle of pages with verses that speak to us about who we are in Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
I'm made new daily.
The old (not just the sins, the abuse, the negative words, the trash talk towards me by my abuser) are passed away.

Heya Pine...this is awesome, sis. We find healing in His words..in His truths. When the enemy strikes, His words cause the enemy to shrink back and be silent.
2 Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
God is so good.
love you, sis

Deuteronomy 32:10
In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste. He shielded him and cared for him; he guarded him as the apple of his eye.
You my dear Pine are the apple of his eye!

Even in the hardest of times...He is there holding our hand

Oh keep those verses coming.
I'm on search of that sound mind he has for me.
Oh tam that verse is on a wooden apple that hangs in my bedroom. Lately it's been difficult to see myself as the apple of Gods eye. The words of the past snatch it away.

"we are members of one another" (Ephesians 4:5) > so, Satan, you are attacking *us* and not only Pine. She is not the person alone who you once abused, but she is with *us*, now. So, we are together standing against you with this scripture.
"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you." (James 4:7) We stand together against you, in the name of Jesus, first by submitting to God in His peace so we are in His power of His peace to refuse you and make you flee, Satan. Jesus is the Lord of all, the Son of God. Jesus is our Head. So, with the mind of Christ our new Head . . . Halleluiah >
We have power over your nonsense and cruel hatred of your thoughts and memories that you bring. So, the glory is to You, O God our Father, in the name of Jesus.
"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;"
(in Psalm 23:5)
I can be in the presence of any enemies, at all, and have all You please to share with me of Your own table, and this with my brothers and sisters. This means any enemy, at all > an enemy can be even the most evil and dangerous person present and I still have all You have for us, of Your very own table before us. And my enemies can be memories of past hurts which may be present but they can't hurt me because Your power almighty protects me and has me busy caring for others, instead of suffering about myself. And so . . . a main enemy can be how I myself can fail and still be weak enough to give in to how Satan would effect me; however, You are able to share all of Your table with me, in spite of how still I can fail, and You are able to make me so I do better.

Thank you all
2 cor 10:5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
When those thoughts pop up that remind us of the mental abuse, keeping us captive in the past, we need to take captive that thought and compare it to what God says in his word.
After all we are new creatures created in Christ Jesus. We are not what the past says we are.

"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
. . .but against principalities, against powers,
. .against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
.against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .(Ephesians 6:12)
"Therefore submit to God.
. . .Resist the devil and he will flee from you."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .(James 4:7)
We are not "made perfect by the flesh"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . (in Galatians 3:3)
Abusers have criticized us for not meeting their demands for what our flesh does or does not do. We do not need to try to be perfect in the flesh the way they wanted.
Nor do we need to go along with how this world would have us conform in our flesh and what they say to do, trying to oppress us and make us clones of what they expect, so they can *use* us.
We do not owe these things to anybody; and we do not owe to ourselves a lot of things we have been requiring of our own selves >
"Owe no one anything except to love one another,
for he who loves another has fulfilled the law."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .(Romans 13:8)
Plus, no one else owes us, that they do what we want their flesh to do. So, if we ourselves have been trying to *use* people to do what we want their flesh to do for us . . . this could be why we are still suffering and worrying about what others have demanded of us. How we are being with others, can be what we are reaping, ourselves. Are we first about pleasing You and obeying You, and caring about all others as ourselves, rather than trying to just *use* any person, at all?
While I am still using, this can have me where Satan can be abusing.

Today, we had a lady preaching. First, she talked about how her husband got into drugs after they had become Christians. Then he cheated on her. She was very mad. And she got into "How could You do this to me, God?" She found out she could not stop him from doing drugs, plus could not stop him and her. But she went for a divorce, and then finally he got ready to go through rehab. But this came after she realized she could not control him. She needed to trust God.
Now, I'm not sure the divorce move was the best way to put pressure on him, but it worked out, it seems.
In any case she got the drift she was not the one who could control him, she needed to give him to God. And then things worked out. After this, he got straightened out, and then we got into Christian ministry together and had a girl, if I remember right.
But then came the message of the cheater that she had a child that was his. And this woman was quite mad and again . . . "How could You let this happen?" But she realized she needed to forgive. She could not approve what her husband did, but do forgive. Or else, she could not be forgiven; but also forgiving would make her free from being effected badly, on and on and on, about what her husband had done.
I can see, too . . . in this case . . . he had already really changed since messing down with the woman who cheated with him. So, holding this on him, then, would have also been wasting and ruining all God had done since his cheating time. And he's sitting there, while she's telling everybody all this.
Then she got into how her situation was like how happened with Joseph in Genesis chapters 37-50 > how he had told his brothers he had a dream that they were all bowing to him, and so they sold him into slavery, and then he was falsely accused of trying to rape his master's wife, got put in prison; then he was used to tell Pharoah the interpretation of the king's dreams, and then he was used to manage all Egypt's resources to avoid many people dying during a great famine. And . . . lo and behold . . . his brothers got in trouble and needed food; so they came to Egypt, not knowing their brother Joseph was now in charge of everything, having power to do whatever he could to those brothers who had hated and betrayed Joesph.
But Joseph took care of them and their families. Then, when their father died, now the brothers were scared things might be different. But here is how Joseph handled this > "Joseph said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.' And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them." (Genesis 50:20-21)
So, Joseph the "victim" was *aggressive* to make good out of the situation.
He saw how God was using the bad for His good intentions.
God made things WOW > work out well to save many people alive,
where Satan had been so busy and focused with taking away Joseph's life.
WOW, how where Satan could make some mess with just one person,
God used that person to help many many many people to stay alive.
So, "grace abounded much more." (in Romans 5:20)
"Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound.
But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more."
WOW included how Joseph with God got reconciled with his brothers. And the twelve tribes of the whole nation of Israel have come from Joseph and his brothers.
So . . . when we are victims . . . with You, God, we are not just about getting through, or "surviving" for ourselves, or taking action to change policies in order to stop or get the bad guys. But with You we are aggressively getting into how we can use the wrong for Your good intentions . . . of helping many people to live, and to even have reconciliation so the wrong ones can be included in Your plan for life, like Joseph's brothers were. Of course, we know ones of our abusers have no interest in being reconciled; however, this does not stop us from all we can do with You > in Your priesthood, we are like Jesus >
"For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin." (Hebrews 4:15)
So, our Groom Jesus has come to this earth, and He has gone through things that we go through, here in this evil world . . . so that now Jesus can feel for us and minister to us all that got Him through it all. And we with Jesus do this same thing > we go through hard things, so that now we can feel for others and help them with how You have gotten us through it all, LORD. This is included in the priesthood of Jesus; and we are in this priesthood. So, welcome to the priesthood of Jesus > now we can stop being just "victims" and *take advantage* of whatsoever Satan has done, exploiting his stupid nonsense for God's good end. We are the exploiters, now
"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who
called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."
