I was going to ask before, but i forgot what is the shack about?
I read somewhere that we should except that we're not going to be able to stop sinning or stop messing up our lives because it is part of human nature, becuase of what happened in the garden of eden, sin is a part of us, yet we should still try not to sin and they ways to do this are to think good thoughts by reading the bible, singing, fellowship and prayer. Prayer is the hardest one for me, i think i said before, i just feel like im talking into the air.

Im lacking passion for this i think but i will try anyway, im afraid at how far i can go with surrounding myself in Godly things because my family won't allow it, there are certain boundaries in our house which are basically keep your faith to yourself and Im afriad when they've finally started to accept me as I am that if i change too dramactically all the abuse will start again.

Very understandable tigerlily. Do what you can sis and don't push the boundaries to far. Get creative. You don't have to hang crosses on your wall if it will cause problems for you. But you can tuck a cross necklace into your shirt, yes?
Post scripture on pieces of paper in areas no one looks. Inside a book you often read, maybe?
Tuck a picture of Jesus in your drawer so your eye and your eye only catches a glimpse, a reminder of him and his abundant love and acceptance for you.
My dad threatened to get rid of my bible so I began to hide it under my pillow where it also gave me comfort when I slept. Though my mom was in complete acceptance and encouraged my reading Gods word. I didn't have to worry about my mom finding my bible if she straightened my bed when I was at school.
I don't know if you have any family members that will accept your desire to keep God in your life. Nor do I know your living araingements.
If you have your own room where no one enters you can post scripture on your mirror, on your closet door, ect.
If not then you have to get more creative.
You don't have to go bold if it will indanger you. Go for subtle ways to bring little reminds of Christ into you day.
God loves ya and so do I!

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

Tigerlily, I can't say much more than Pine has on things you can do, but also remember you can take time just you and God...reading the Bible in your room together, praying and even coming here to the oasis to fellowship with others. Don't let the actions of nonbelievers pull you away from standing strong in the Lord. If it's God's will then He will make the way. Trust Him.
luv ya

thanks, im not sure whether we will have no internet or just limited time on the internet, we'll have to see how it works out, if not i will have to take a trip to the library
Prayer is something ive always struggled with, i guess because, i think ive said this before, that i feel as though im talking into the air, does everyone have the holy spirit, or do you have to be saved, if so then maybe thats my problem? how do i stop my doubts?
I feel like ive lost the ability to love, and im wondering because i dont feel the emotion naturally, thats why i masturbate, to make myself feel something, love, maybe, does that make sense?

So good to see you here tonight sis.
One receives the gift of the Holy Spirit when they believe in Jesus and love Him. You have a hard time with prayer sis, because you have a hard time with Trust. When you don't fully trust someone, then it's hard to talk to them, and ask them to help you, and to accept that help. Jesus, is the way, the truth and the life....He offers you His love so very freely, and just wants you to accept it. I know it may seem difficult, but it's really not...it's just a choice.
As for the wanting to feel love, it's really more of the fact that what you know as love is the feeling of the flesh. True love comes from Jesus, and His love is different. His love is a love that loves even when we don't deserve that love. His love is one that doesn't harm us, His love doesn't ever end, and He will never take it from us. His love wants your love in return. Jesus says come to Him and He will give you rest.
luv ya sis

Hello Tigerlily,
You've asked a very good question.
The answer is No, not everyone has the Holy Spirit. When a person accepts Jesus Christ as Saviour, when they become Born Again because they accept and acknowledge Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross for ALL sin, including theirs, and then He was resurrected and lives again, then at that time, the Holy Spirit of God comes into the person's heart.
Jesus Christ loves you, Tigerlily. He invites you to believe on Him.
Love,
Sister Mack
