i got a confession (or 2)

As some of you may recall, I was donig some pretty bad stuff. I'm only gonna focus on 2 right now.

1- Smokeless Tobacco.....I made a promise to the Lord I was gonna stop it. After a small blow-up at work due to niccotine withdrawl, I realized I needed to have a talk with Him. We agreed it may be in my best interest if I continued using it. It's bad when your'e boss notices you are acting different. Sorry that I dissapointed anyone here.

2- Porn..... I looked at some videos the other night. But, this time was unlike any other. I told the Lord I was gonna do it, but with objection. After a few minutes, I asked myself , " Tim, why did you look at this crap?!?!?!?!" I had no feeling of excitement like before. Only feelings of shame and guilt.

So, now I guess I just keep on keeping on. I had to do one for the fact of keeping my job and my sanity. The other was to test myself. I'm still asking myself why I looked at that stuff and seemed to enjoy it.

I know I'm weak at times. I say things maybe I should keep quiet. But, I'm still ya'lls brother Red and that will never change.

Love you all and GOD BLESS!!!!
Tim

We fall, We get up!

Philipians 3
12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Good one Jill.
I have studied those particular scriptures and although understand what Paul meant, I have always wondered what "sins" Paul had to deal with and overcome.
Does anyone know?

Love,
Tracy

P.S. Way to go Red....one day at a time!

Also wanted to add that God has his own timing and ways. When I first got saved for some odd reason I stopped cussing and saying "bad" words and I had no explaination for it.

ljd, so what you are saying is that God will make sin more and more unappealing to us (according to our own individual circumstances)?

If so, that has happened in my life. Like when I tried to go back to some old ways that were wrong, it just didn't feel right. It would either bore me or make me feel out of sorts. Then sometimes He has to give us what some call a "spiritual spanking". lol

He is soooo Good, isn't He! I'm sure He must get really frustrated with stubborn ppl like me, who try to keep running in the street and getting that spanking.lol

Amen Red.
At least you now have a guilt feeling as at one time you didn't. Tells me that you have grown. When we confess our sins to Him and others and are truly sorrow, we have a fresh start my friend. I do not condone you but are beside you as a brother.
Keep up the good work and stay close to HIM.

Luv ya,

Real
