feeling called, trying to make time as a mom with young kids
Hi all I definitely have been feeling the call into ministry but have a hard time while raising small children and everything that goes into that. My friends and I talk about this, wanting to do more but feeling "tied down" So many things have been better in our home, with me being a more patient mommy and dave and I pray together now and doing communion together. Also been teaching the kids bible stories and bedtime prayers and I know that will lead them in the right direction but honestly right now it seems like it's not sinking in since they are so young. Then I realized that part of my calling is to raise my kids the right way and to encourage other moms. I feel led to share the good news with my unsaved friends and am trying to seek God for what to share with them, esp since one of them is very "anti-God"
I also feel led to reach the lost Jewish people for Christ and we seem to be going in that direction with what we've been studying and where we've been led. Sometimes I just have a hard time knowing if I am definitely hearing God's voice...something happened to confirm something for me recently but other times I feel like He is not showing a lot just yet. We just need to "trust and obey, there is no other way!"
God bless you all

Jen, have you done the Many Called Few Chosen study here yet? If not....I'd say go for it sis, it's an awesome study.
Yes it is difficult at times to do things with small children, but just know that there are lots of forums here at the Oasis, and many lost and hurting souls that visit...such as the counseling forum. Check it out sometime, cuz many are needed to witness to these souls as well.
Take care sis

Just an update on this stuff. The hubby and I are leading a bible study in March on the book of Daniel focusing on his uncompromising life, the history of the rise and fall of the empires God helped him interpret, and as the Spirit leads going towards the end times. We also would like to do more to outreach to the community. But nothing is too small to start with!

Hello Jen
God bless you this day.
As you know, your calling to bring up your children in the way they should go, is a very blessed calling. Savor it, as the time is going to fly by.
Your comment about that they seem unable to grasp what you are teaching them because of how young they are -- oh yes, it may appear that way. But, it really is the same in teaching new Christians too, no matter their age. So think of the awesome practice you are getting now, and what a benefit there is for both your sweet children and for you as the teacher. You are serving God with your beautiful heart that is towards Him, and lovingly raising your children.
I think about Peter's wife sometimes. I don't think she is ever mentioned in The Bible, but her mother is. Jesus healed her mother. I wonder what Peter's wife was doing while he was walking with Jesus, and then continued on in his ministry/calling after Jesus ascended into Heaven?
I enjoy the exchange of heartfelt words you share here at Christianity Oasis. God is Good. Thank You Jesus. I love how The Holy Spirit works.
God bless you, Jen.
In His love,
Mack

I have thought of Peters wife at times also. Who is she was she a virtuous woman. How did she support him in his ministry.
You and your family is a blessing to me Jen.

Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up! Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us.

thank you ladies for the kind words of encouragement! It's true, so many women were there "behind the scenes" in the Bible and they must have been Godly women, building up their husbands and there family. I notice when I am in step with God my husband naturally follows suit and in turn the kids are more calm since everyone is more calm!
God bless you all
