focus!!!
yesterday I didnt go to my normal church, I went to the church where I first started to feel God working in my heart
. at the time I wasnt really sure why I went there, I figured that there would be new people I didnt know, my friends there had left, the only people I really knew there were the youth pastor and his wife.
I just felt like I was being lead there. I sat in the sanctuary looking up at the wooden cross for awhile and it felt good just to stop and think about everything. and then I realized that my head had become so clouded with stuff, the things of this world. that I had no time to stop and focus on what was really important. and in fact the ONLY thing that I should be thinking about all day every day.
you know exactly what Im talking about.
sometimes we get so preoccupied with stuff that we forget to stop and focus on God and what he's been doing in the world and all that He has done for us.
here is a small experiment for you guys:
turn the T.V on, watch a commercial, and count how long one images shows up on the screen.
the answer: 1.5 seconds.
yeah....1.5 seconds. thats how long it takes us to get bored with an image. we as a society have become so desensitized that we need non stop repetitive action to keep our attention. for those of you who have gone to see an action movie lately, we pay 6 bucks to see explosions. we need those explosions to keep us interested in the movies.
why?
because we have forgotten how to just sit down. stop. and think, appreciate, meditate, contemplate.
I,as a christian, have become so loaded up with all this stuff going on in my life that I forgot that I need to just stop and Focus on God, the one that created me, my world, everything and everyone in my world, and everything beyond my world.
so now Im faced with a challenge.
I can keep going, go to church twice a week and be faux christian and then go back to focusing on my problems. or I can stop and focus on the amazing things that God has done for us. because God deserves that. He made us, we are His children, he deserves more than lip service twice a week.
what are you gonna do? are you gonna focus on whats really important? or become so involved with your world that you forget about whats outside of you?
As albert einstien said " A person starts to live when he can live outside himself."
if your not sure, I highly suggest you read psalm 19.

Rain, thanks for the post. You see so well what most are missing everyday. Love costs us time, and often we don't want to pay that price. Jesus paid a price for us to be able to go directly to the Lord and be able to talk to HIM, and fellowship in HIS love. God always has time for us, but we seldom seem to find time for HIM. Bet ya, if you were to spend more time fellowshiping with HIM, you'd find more happiness than that tv set can offer. A tv show is temporary, the Lord is forever.
luv ya rain
