Being "Called" by the Lord can be a bit frightening for some (As it was at first for many in the Bible)
How does one know when they have been ... Called?

I know because God's Word tells me repeatedly throughout The Bible. One example: Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

In addition, He places a desire or an urge to serve Him within us once we receive Jesus as Christ and Savior, and depending on the Spiritual gifts He gives us, the desire or urges seem to be stronger. We can still resist in we want to -- we still have choice -- but the urges return through blessed inspiration, as He continues the process of conversion within us.

Hi Christianity Oasis i sure know when my pastor asked take over the nursing home and preach there for the church i was afraid i stepped out and did it in faith and allowed God to work through me and equip me to do the task of preaching i was appointed to do.

How do we know that we are called Jesus tells us in the word to go into the world teaching others about the Gospel well he was telling the Eleven disciples to do this but once we become converts of Jesus we become his disciples as well....

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.
17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

How does someone know when they are called? When God shows up in the most unexpected way and uses you....as long as you are willing to follow Him. I know because the Holy Spirit pulls at me...tugs at me....talks to me...and shows me what I'm to do....even if I don't know how...He does.
