Conflicted
I consider myself to be part of the LGBT+ community, and it was something that took me years to accept and be comfortable with. Now, after read the Homosexuality Bible study, I find myself asking, "Why would God not love me for how He made me?" Can't Leviticus 18:22 now be considered (via the New Covenant that Jesus made) to mean that a relationship between two men or two women must be different between a relationship between a man and woman, and that we cannot expect it to be the same?
I don't believe that a person can CHOOSE to be lesbian/gay, bisexual, transgendered, asexual, genderfluid, pansexual, etc, because I believe that it was something that you were BORN with, which leads back to my first question....
I'm really conflicted right now.

Hi Taryn,
I can only offer you Truth as it would not be right if I did not.
Romans 1:24-27 says
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
Also I Corinthians 7:32-35 says
32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
33 But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
34 There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
Sometimes we may not like to hear Truth....as it does not conform to the world when we are thinking in the flesh....but it is Truth.
Take care

God loves all His children. Homosexuality is a forgivable sin. We are all sinners, Taryn...til the day we die. I will see you in heaven, sister.
Love,

Re: Conflicted
Hello Taryn (((hugs)))
God bless you this day.
First of all, I just want to remind you that you are loved. God loves you. He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for you, and grace you everlasting life through belief on Him. Hallelujah! And, as Notforgotten wrote, "I'll see you in Heaven, sister"
I cannot claim to understand fully the reasons God has for every directive in The Bible. I do feel certain of this point. God loves you. And, it is not our loving anyone that is the problem. God even wants us to love our enemies. But, as you know, it is the type of love where God draws a distinction.
I happen to be a married women. I am married to a man and have been for close to 44 years. This is the type of marriage approved by God. However, if I or my husband were to lust after another with our eyes, not to mention if we were to act on that lust, God's Word says we have sinned. It seems that not all sexual desire is approved by God.
We could say, but God gave us that desire when He made us, but God's Word says this: 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
I am the type of person who wants to know why. Yes, it can, and often does, gets me in trouble, but, I have no problem asking God questions during my precious time with Him. Many of my questions I've not gotten answers to, but I trust that it will all be revealed when I'm face to face with Him in Heaven. But, here is a thought I have had often in regards to God's warnings against lusts of the flesh, etc., and it is this: Lust of the flesh and of the eyes, unbeknownst to us, is one of the ways (a.k.a. open doors) that satan uses to get a grip on us and to trip us up. Again, it is NOT loving someone of the same sex that God opposes, it's the lusts of the flesh and of the eyes, and the acting on those lusts, that God opposes.
Adultery is sexual relations between a man and a woman who are not married. Another form of lust of the flesh or lust of the eyes. A.k.a. an open door for satan.
Regardless, God loves us. Jesus is Lord, and those of us who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour, are saved and will be with Him eternally. We do, however, have to be aware of satan and his craftiness, and how he is always on the prowl.
Taryn, Jesus loves you.
On another note, there are so many other things and ways that provide open doors for satan. For example: Drugs, both legal and illegal, alcohol, smoking, etc. Anything that causes a change in the chemical makeup of the body. Does God's grace cover for those things, if we confess them. Yes, His grace does. I was a smoker for 47 years. I quite smoking 20 months ago. Thank You Jesus! However, I didn't quit before I developed COPD -- which is not curable by conventional means. It would take a divine healing, if it be His will. My smoking opened a door for satan to walk right in, and the spiritual addiction caused a physical addiction, and the damage was done.
There are drugs prescribed by doctors that actually help certain conditions, but, they are still open doors for spirits to enter. The Greek word for drugs is pharmakeia which, in the Bible, means sorcery or idolatry. Yet, a larger percentage of adults take prescription drugs, daily, than don't. I have to take several. We must be made aware of these things and turn to God for His blessed hedge of protection in the name of Jesus and His blessed blood covering via forgiveness and grace. Awwwwww, God is so very Good.
Thank You Lord for Your blessed GRACE!
I know I wandered a bit, but I truly hope my post honors God, honors His Word...The Truth, and helps you, Taryn. The Lord loves you!
God bless and keep you, Taryn.
Love,
Sister Mack

Re: Conflicted
Hello Taryn
I'm back. I wanted to add something else.
I still wrestle with God's Word, even though I've been born again for 35 years or so. But, just as Jacob wrestled with the Angle of The Lord (see Genesis 32:22-32) to receive a blessing, it is well worth wrestling with God's Word, desiring a blessing. Don't be tempted to walk away from it or Him.
God desires to bless us. The Holy Spirit is ready and able to help you in your walk, so keep seeking Him with all your heart.
The God Almighty: God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit, loves you so very much
God bless and keep you,

I'm getting older, and the older I get, the less libido I seem to have. I consider it a blessing. Keep searching, often times we can find a calling through are tribulations. Pray to God for guidance and discernment. It is a blessing and a great honor to serve the Lord.

Re: Conflicted
God Does love people who are of the GLBT group of people. Did He make us that way? I don't see evidence of that somehow. God Created Eve after He created Adam and Adam chose Eve to be his helpmate. in the story of creation in the Bible. Now somebody has shared passages that show that homosexuals will not get into the Kingdom of God. If these passages are read in full then one would see that hetrosexuals will not make it into Heaven if they are having sex with somebody other then a spouse. The latter verses of Romans1 are not verses meant to attack and condemn the sin of homosexuality, which is not the sin. Homosexual sexuality is ..........as is hetrosexual sexuality outside of marraige. In Romans 1 those last verses referred to to presummavly show that God despises jomosexuals is off the mark as it is taken out of context. One must start reading from the beginning of the Chapter, obeying all punctuation marks. This will show that God was angry with a group of hetrosexual idolators. This anger led to God's judgment which when put into action converted these heterosexual idolators into deviant homosexuals. Thus the claim that the last verses of Romans1 being written to show God's disapproval of homosexuals is a constant erroneos statement made in the Christian community. This is not to say that homosexual relating sexually and in other ways is not sinful. It is. But Romans 1 was not written to express this truth. The other passages written here were. So despite the debate over the latter verses of Romans1 homosexual relating in forms reserved for hetrosexuals is wrong But God still loves you. He sent His son, Jesus to die for your sins, John 3:16. Those of a homosexual nature as well as those common to all ,of all sexual orientations. But if you remain celibate and do not engage in sexual sin of a homosexual nature and other such expressions of relating reserved for hetrosexual relating then you will be righteous in God's eyes and He will honor all your attempts to be sexually pure.
