Yes, John Mark, aka as Mark and/or Marcus was an interesting guy. He penned the Gospel of Mark. Everyone gathered in hiding and praying at his mother's (Mary) house when James was killed and Peter had been taken prisoner. Mark was also nephew to Barnabas, (Barnabas and Mary were brother and sister) the disciple that stood up and aided Paul soon after his conversion, when the others were hesitant to accept Paul.

Many believe Mark to be the young man who ran away, losing his towel covering rendering him running naked from the place, when the soldiers took Jesus away. The Gospel of Mark is the only reported account of that, therefore, leaving scholars to believe it was his personal account of the situation.

Mark was the reason for a rift between himself and Paul, as well as a rift between Paul and Barnabas. He left, abruptly, from a trip with the two, and basically went back home -- which did not set well with Paul. So later, when Paul and Barnabas were about to take another ministry trip, they argued when Barnabas wanted to take Mark with them -- resulting in Paul and Barnabas going their separate ways.

Thankfully, all were reunited later, with grace abounding. Yeah!!!

I love it!!! *ReadBible* check out the Gospel of Mark, Acts, Colossians, Philemon

A parable is a story, of sorts, ...an example to teach a moral or spiritual lesson or principle -- and as far as it's use in the Bible, it is only understood by the The Lord: God The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Spirit, revealing The Truth. Jesus often spoke in parables, and when asked why, he answered. (See Matthew 13:10-13)

They were a married couple who sold their land, held back some money and lied to the apostles and God about it. They had both died in their lies. Acts 5:1-11.

John 4

7There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

She turned into a pillar of salt.

Who does the Holy Spirit declare to that we belong to Christ. This is how Christ builds His kingdom through the Spirit of truth here on earth.

The Holy Spirit declares to our spirit that we belong to Jesus. Yeah!!! Thank You Lord

Romans 8:16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

After reading about Lot's wife and about Ananias and Sapphira, I'm relieved to get that confirmation from The Holy Spirit, because I know who I am without The Lord, and that is no better than Lot's wife and Ananias and Sapphira.

Thank You Lord for the grace bestowed upon me by my acknowledgment and acceptance of what Christ Jesus did on the cross.

Also, Lord, please commit to my memory Your blessed reminder of Lot's wife in Your Word (Luke 17: 28-32).

Does The Bible tell us if any of the original 12 Apostles were married?

*Wave* Close...

The Spirit of truth glorifies Christ by bearing witness that we belong to Christ and declaring this to the Apostles who sit on the thrones of judgment so that we are not judged and may go onto the Father.

Jesus said to the Apostles;

John 16:13. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

Yes, Yes, Yes, Notforgotten...John 16:13. Amen! Awesome Word of God. Thank You Jesus! and thank you, Notforgotten for sharing.

Yeah!!!

I know the Bible references Peter's mother-in-law in the Gospel of Matthew, Mark and Luke, when Jesus healed her.

Matthew 8:14-15, Mark 1:29-31 and Luke 4:38-39.

I don't recall reading in the Bible that any of the other original 12 Apostles were married, besides Peter, but I admit, I do not know the entire Bible. Perhaps other writings of historians and religious scholars suggest that there were?

Thomas doubted, and as a result, he is often referred to as Doubting Thomas.

Which Apostle was transported by The Holy Spirit, from one place to another, approx. 37 miles away?
Hint: The Book of Acts

Who did Eli the Priest mistakenly take for being drunk instead of realizing that she was praying?

1 Samuel 1:13. Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.

*Wave* Hello Everyone

God bless you!

Judas received 30 pieces of silver for his betrayal of Jesus.

Prophesied about this in Old Testament scriptures: Zechariah 11:12-13

Also, see New Testament scriptures: Matthew 26:15, Matthew 27:3-10

Which Old Testament prophet after being used of God in a divine demonstration of God's power to bring down fire from Heaven to consume his sacrifice drenched in water, and also a trough of water surrounding the sacrifice, and who also ordered (by God's instruction) the deaths of 450 false prophets, and ...who later out ran a chariot for approximately 12 miles. However, even later, upon reading what a woman said was going to be done to him (worse than what had been done to those false prophets, he ran for his life, full of fear...some 100 miles away?
