The Practical Application of Christian Warfare Tactics Pt. 1
Hello Christianity Oasis, All...
Blessings!
One cannot learn how to apply one's knowledge of spiritual warfare unless one is attacked by the devil. We can spend time in the Christian Army's boot camp, but having a head knowledge of Christian Warfare Tactics doesn't cut it on the battlefield, for it is there we learn to apply the tactics we learned in boot camp. All must take Christian warfare seriously enough to be prepared for battle, and all that have experienced spiritual warfare should share their experiences. For those reasons I have undertaken this task of teaching you some practical skills that will enable you to stand in the fiercest of battles.
I have a son, Isaac, that has taken his Christian calling of discipleship seriously. It is for that reason that I have been teaching him anything and everything I know, anything and everything I understand, and anything and everything I have both seen and experienced of the Word of God the entire time I have been teaching much of the same to you all on here. As a consequence... when Isaac experienced his first discernible attack of the devil a week ago he knew what to do. The attack itself was simple enough but I venture to say quite a few on here wouldn't have discerned it as from the devil.
As stated, the attack was simple enough. A spirit of anger descended upon he and his wife last Monday afternoon although both were at work miles apart. Isaac grumbled around for a while, wanting to snap at everyone, but before he got caught up in that to the point of acting out he realized there wasn't a single reason for him to be full of anger. With that understanding Isaac recognized the presence of a spirit of anger and resisted it. He then called his wife to let her know what had been going on with him. She confided that she had been experiencing the same attack. She resisted the devil the same as Isaac and things returned to normal for them.
I call such attacks normal spiritual warfare. Much...and I do mean much of what we experience in the mind of the flesh regarding negative human emotions arise out of a planted evil thought we have often agreed with. Of course when we agree with evil thoughts evil feelings follow, and with evil feelings comes evil actions much of the time. For that reason we need to learn this principle...evil anything is governed by evil everything...If we desire to advance in the Spiritual life that is within us we must begin doing battle at the door of our own house first. Forget about your neighbors problems...you have enough problems of your own you don't as yet recognize and it is high time you begin fighting evil there!
Now the works of the flesh are these...(Gal.5.19-21) adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,[20] Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred (anger), variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,[21] Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings and...NASB version...19.Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20.idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, 21. envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these.
Once again I say this. We must learn this principle...evil anything is governed by evil everything!
Some of you might say, "Oh no, my anger is justified." Really? Then why have we been given the commandment of love and advised to overcome evil with good? Isn't it because we have been all too comfortable entertaining evil thoughts that come to us by evil creatures, not regarding their origin or casting them down, but accepting them?
Discerning evil in our works of the flesh is our first lesson in spiritual warfare.
Evil anything is governed by evil everything!
Blessings!
