Dignifying Trials

Postby Hope » Tue Jan 28, 2014 1:46 am

I gotta share this as it was like a light came on and suddenly things make sense. I was reading in a devotional tonight and i was reading about temptations and trials and the difference between the two and then i read the next one and it was about dignifying the trial so that God receives the Glory and there is a purpose behind it. I also learned that im not supposed to grumble (which i have done ALOT of lately) and that i am to cheerfully endure and to know that God wants me to pass this test far more than i do... so, with that in mind, I am going to try harder to be who God wants me to be for however long this trial lasts. And while i can't promise i won't ever grumble. I AM gonna try harder to be cheerful and experience the joy, knowing that God is working His purpose in this.

Hi Hope - That's a big breakthrough the Lord has shown you and thanks for sharing it, and the breakthroughs will continue to come more frequently because the more we learn, the quicker He can move us on to the next up-level--after of-course the next hardness.

My breakthrough was the same, as all believers will be similar, according to their capability as the Lord shows us. I realized that since God "works all things together for our good," and that is regardless if we inadvertently incurred it or whatever reason they occur, we can be humble in the pridefullness, and patient on the Lord to let it pass over (pun intended--"Passover").

In all this we learn there is no reason to allow disappointment, which only comes when we trust in the arm of flesh, rather than the arm of God, because He never disappoints.

I call it the Magoo-factor--we cannot avoid that He always makes us end up where He wants us, regardless of how we react or comprehend!
The Christian life is not our living a life like Christ, or our trying to be Christ-like, nor is it Christ giving us the power to live a life like His; but it is Christ Himself living His own life through us; 'no longer I, but Christ.'" -MJS
