Another Sip from the Psalms.
Good Morning all, and blessings, I share here what I drank from His Bucket at the Well this morning.
Ps 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
The Psalms offer a beautiful pattern for prayer. And reading them daily is like refreshing one’s self under a waterfall!
It is good to take a little ‘Psalm Break’ often in the day.
The little ‘Praise Phrases’ are like blowing kisses to Him who the soul loves!
Oh The Lord loves the heart that feels such loves for Him. And just the reading of the words of His beautiful Book have such an effect on the heart – that one cannot help but love Him!
At times like these I want to stand upon the roof top – throw my arms wide – and shout to the Heavens, my heart’s overflow!
True Praise and Worship is the expression of the experience of the heart, Just like the open sea – sometimes like the gentle swell out in the ocean, so our communion with the Lord is more hushed and concentrated on those matters that occupy our concerns, but as we draw in to the shores of His Great Love – so there builds up in our hearts that wonder of Him – that breaks in absolute Praise and adoration!
PRAISE is that which speaks of God. It extols His virtues and speaks out the wonder and appreciation of what He has done. You can Praise Him by telling Him,...
or by telling others about Him.
True praise is specific.
If Your boss says to you, ‘I praise you’, it is meaningless. But if he says, ‘you work so well with the customers.’ He is praising you.
If you say to another ‘Wow, Sally bakes a great chocolate cake’ That is meaningful praise.
To praise the Lord is to extol the wonder of His Divine Attributes; To EXPRESS Delight in His Presence, Appreciation of His Provision, and the Recognition of His Protection.
Worship on the other hand is that attitude of adoration that spontaneously overflows, sometimes in silent Posture, and sometimes with words that express devotion, affection, deep reverence and Love.
Worship is the heart attitude produced by praise, and directed in adoration to The Lord.
Service can be an act of Worship.
Obedience can be an act of Worship
What we often think is that the mere singing of Christian songs is praise and Worship - this is only true if the words we sing reflect what is truly in our heart. And it is only one form of worship.
May the Lord Bless each one,
Jedidiah

Re: Another Sip from the Psalms.
Jedidiah, I've been studying "hallowed be your name" and then I looked at C-O-O-L and found your latest post. I seldom take notes from post, but this is different. Ps 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto His name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness 3 "directions" I RECIEVED 1-"True Praise and Worship is the expression of the experience of the heart". In my private journal I need to write down and remember His goodness. The faintest ink is stronger than the best memory. This will help me with the second point. 2- "True praise is specific" I want and need every word to be real and specific. 3-"True Praise and Worship is the expression of the experience of the heart". It seems real praise and worship comes from our experience of the past, the reality of the present and promises His word gives us for the future. Thank you Jedidiah for this "Sip from the Psalms", this is and will be a work in progress for me. He deserves better than I have given Him GBU Jimf
