Day 11

Postby linster » Mon Nov 05, 2012 9:36 pm

Wow step 11 was a quick one but a good one. When I am alone and thinking about God and Christianity but not actually praying, am I communicating with the Holly Spirit? I have always wondered this because it seems that sometimes I come upon answers that I never should have gotten on my own. Come on people don't be shy I need feedback. Let me thank everyone again for all there hopes and prayers. David

Hello Linster :)

God bless you this day.

Well, it seems you are communicating with The Holy Spirit, especially if you are spiritually hearing back from Him, so as soon as you become aware that you are "talking in your head" or "to yourself", acknowledge Him. He is with you always, anyway, so why not acknowledge Him? That is exactly how it happened with me, too. :) Now, I talk to Him about everything that is going on in my life, even in the mundane things such as: while doing laundry and washing dishes. He is great company, and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so AWESOME. He truly is my Best Friend, and He wants to be your Best Friend, too.

Oh cool, I hear music *BigGrin* (just replace one word in the song: change the word "girl" to "God". :)

God bless and keep you, Linster.

linster, Prayer is talking and listening to God. No more, no less. I see that you are listening and that is good. Remember conversation is 2 sided. Speak to God in your own words. He loves it when we speak plainly and honestly from our heart. He wants to speak and spend time with the real you. Just as you like compliments, so does He. He loves it when we truly tell Him how important He is to us. Tell Him whats going on in your life ( He already knows ) but He loves sharing and spending time with you. Share with Him your needs (He knows) but again its the time spent with you thats important and He's got some words to share with you about them. On listening to God, He speaks best through His word, stay in it. He will speak into your thoughts and it will take some time to get familier. Heres a little illustration that I have shared. When I lived in town the neighbor beside me had a dog that barked all the time. The neighbor behind me would fuss and cuss about the dog all the time. I never really said nothing about it because it did not bother me. Although I lived closer to the dog, I seldom ever heard it. My neighbor who lived further away from the dog raised so much fuss, that he could hear it every single time it barked. He fussed and got good at hearing it, I did not respond so I was not very good at hearing it. Here's the conclusion, to get better at hearing things (including thoughts). When you respond to anything you hear( good or bad responses ) you become more sensative to hearing any sound. When you dont respond you will not be sensetive to the sounds. Responding is the key, it is an action that we do when as we hear sounds or recieve thoughts. More responses, more ability to hear. Here are some responses we can do to hear God clearer. Write down our thoughts we recieve, meditate, speak out loud what you have heard. Read Gods word and take notes. These are just a few responses or actions you can do. THE MORE RESPONSES, THE MORE FAMILIAR YOU BECOME AND AN ABILITY TO HEAR WILL BECOME EASIER. Always remember, everything you hear needs to be confirmed by the word of God. I hope I have not confused you. If there appears to be any confusion, ignore what I have said. GBU Jimf

Jim at this point almost everything is confusing. I know that some of it will make sense now and more of it will make sense later.
