How Do We Know?
6-28-12
Day 32 since starting here. It’s been a couple of days since my last post & although I haven’t fallen away I haven’t exactly been in the Spirit either. As those who know me I have trouble sleeping & I take Rx pain killers. Well I ran out last night & suffered thru the night which brings me to an interesting question for you all;
Mark 11:24 - Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 14:36 - “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
In the latter Jesus asked the Father to remove the pain & suffering He knew He was about to go through BUT He also knew that He had to go thru it in order for His Father's will to be done. So how do we know when God wants us to suffer thru something in order to grow or when He will deliver us thru something by supernatural means, a miracle?
God Bless
Keep on Prayin!!!

Re: How Do We Know?
Hello JohnR (((hugs)))
God bless you this day.
We should always wants God's will. I used to hesitate, a little, to add "God's will be done" at the end of my prayers because it kind of scared me. But, I know, now, that if I truly want to follow The Lord, I need to trust that His will is the very best for me -- IF (and I stress IF) His will is contrary to what I'm praying for. God's revelations are AWESOME!!!
You know yourself, how much you love your own kids, well God loves us way, way, way more than we are capable of loving our own children. AND, He is all-knowing, and He knows what's down the road, too. So often we pray for things, but had we known the future, we may not have asked for those "things". He knows it all.
Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him?
JohnR, The Lord loves you so very much. He really and truly knows what is best for you. So make your requests known to Him, and ask for His will be done.
Yes, Jesus knew that the plan was for Him to go through all that He did. But, He experienced fear, and dread -- just like we all do. But, what did Jesus do when fear and dread were trying to have their way in Him? He went to The Father and poured out His heart. He was then able to go through what He needed to, because The Father consoled Him and encouraged Him. We should never under-estimate the power behind God's consolation and encouragement. His power in action is a miracle, indeed.
Read Hebrews chapters 4 and 5 -- they are short in length, but powerful in strength.
John, I hope I've answered your questions. But, if not, please do not hesitate to ask again. We'll continue to seek God's Word for the answers.
My prayers continue to our Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed will be done.
God bless and keep you, JohnR.
Love,
Mack
