Stone 1- Getting Through.

Postby Hope1978 » Fri May 11, 2012 8:47 am

My name is Hope,
I've been struggling emotionlly for quite a while with various issues since I was a kid. I recently came back to Christianity because I was scared and knew no where else to turn. I'm in school for Psychology trying to find answers to why people act the way they do ..or how it's possible for them to treat others in such harmful ways. I was raised in an abusive household with a mentally ill Mother and a Father that was an alcoholic. I put myself into bad situations and probably let the devil get a good foothold on me. I've been diagnosed Bipolar mixed type, and have PTSD.
My problem is that it seems like some things aren't just caused by my mood disorder but almost like there's an oppresive force that wants to constantly torture my brain with guilt and shame from past events that I have a hard time forgiving myself for.
Where is the line where you can differentiate when it's a mood disorder or when your being spiritually attacked? As soon as I started turned my life to Christ a few months back, it's like clockwork when the negativity starts around me. I prayedthis morning after waking from my normal crippling dreams asking Jesus to take the pain and stop my head, no later than a half hour out of nowhere my husband and I get into a fight... I prayed while it was happening and it was a complete turn around in a few minutes. Am I crazy? Or can this really happen?
My disorder can lead to delusional thinking so I can't sort through it sometimes. Any advice.....I came here to get closer to God and get as much spiritual help as possible to help me overcome this.

Thank You for listening :)

Hello Hope,

Just as your name says.....there is Hope *hug*
I pray others will come and help with answers to your questions, I wanted to let you know that yes I believe that is when you are most likely to be attacked is when you are struggling to come to the Lord.
Satan will not attack those he knows he already owns, instead he will attack those who are weak or are trying to find God
why because that is a threat to him, and everytime that sort of thing happens (the fight with your husband) it makes him stronger BUT everytime we realize it's just him acting out because we are walking away from him and as in the fight you look at your husband and say "I'm sorry or you stop the fight before it starts" it weakens him because he thrives off of our wrongs and hatred, (and by the way just as an F.Y.I. I in NO way am implying you were the wrong in the fight just that you decide to do as God would wish)
God bless you my new sister in Christ and I pray you recieve the answers you seek
Cuc *hug*

Hello Hope1978 :)

God bless you this day.

I am so glad you have chosen to do the CCCC 14 Day Path Study. You will find, that many of your questions will be answered as you continue reading each Stepping Stone of the blessed Study. And most of your questions will be answered by The Holy Spirit and the blessed Word of God (The Bible/Jesus) as you continue getting to know Him, your Lord and Saviour. Our relationship with Him is key.

I know it may be difficult at times to determine if your mood is due to your diagnosis, or whether it is due to unhealthy thinking you may have adopted by the false teachings of the world, or if it is the enemy of our soul (Satan or his demons) messing with you. But, as your relationship with The Lord grows, so will your discernment. Whether something is physiological or psychological or spiritual oppression, remember God made you, and He understands and knows, and He will lead you into all Truth.

Keep reading the CCCC Study, and include some of the lessons learned within your daily posts, and if there is anything you don't understand, be sure to post it/them, and maybe we can help. But, even if we don't know, we can lift you up in prayers to our Lord, that He will reveal the Truth to you.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayers of a righteous man, availeth much.

I look forward to getting to know you and to reading your posts, and witnessing the blessings He will bestow upon you through the Study, because the Study leans heavily on the blessed Word of God.

Jesus is Lord, and He loves you so very much.

Prayers are rising to our Lord in the name of Jesus, on your behalf. May God's blessed and perfect will be done.

God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Hi Hope *Wave* Boy reading your condition was like reading a page from my councilors note pad. lol So I completely understand what you are going through. I went through the CCC and let me tell you did it ever Bless me. Just remember to take one day at a time. Even when it is tempting to move ahead. Posting in your journal is a great help too. Or at least it was for me. It gave me a chance to express how I was feeling about that days lesson and then I got support from my CO family as you will. So you are in the right place for Christian support and understanding. Keep up the good work and I look forward to following along with ya.

Praying for ya
