Jesus prays for us
Hello Everyone
God bless you this day.
Jesus prays for us. \o/ \o/ \o/
Jesus said in John 17:15 I pray not that Thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Jesus said in John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on Me through their word;
I hope it gives you comfort.
What does it say to you?
God bless and keep you.
Love,
Mack

Re: Jesus prays for us
Hello Real (((hugs)))
Thank you for your response.
That is comforting, isn't it? Comforting to know that Jesus prays for us and that we are not alone. Because, sometimes it "feels" like we're alone, doesn't it? Or is it just me?
John 17:15 I pray not that Thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Does "the evil" mean the evil one, like Satan? OR...evil that is in the sinful nature that is part of us? OR...from the evil world? I think about these type things. I think that is what is meant by meditating on His Word, to read it, and think about it. Is it then, a "Yes" to all the above???
For me, most times I think it's what behind door #2...to keep me from the evil nature I have in this flesh. Because, mannnnnnnnn, does it distract me. That evil has me look at myself way, way, way too much, and think about myself way, way, way too much. I am relieved to know and believe that now when I do all that self talk, that I'm actually talking to Him, because in believing that, I know there is a wonderful chance that I'll get a sound answer.
And another thing...when Paul says that it is not he that lives now, but Christ in him. Does that mean Paul doesn't really exist anymore? That his sole purpose is to be the body that Christ is going to live in? Then why would God love Paul? I mean, if Paul no longer exists, then God would just be loving Himself, right??? wrong??? And, Jesus would really just be praying for Himself. right??? wrong???
In this, I'm thinking "wrong" is the correct answer.
God bless and keep you.
Love,
Mack

Re: Jesus prays for us
Hello, again
I suppose everyone is just being shy. Or, perhaps, you were thinking, if we don't respond, she'll stop writing. NOT!!!
Paul exists, and I exist, and so does everyone that patiently awaits the return of our Saviour Jesus. We are His betrothed. I love that word...betrothed, and I love it all the more, knowing I'm betrothed, or promised, to my Lord and Saviour Jesus.
Hallelujah!!! \o/ \o/ \o/
Just as my hubby and I are now one, in this earth realm, one day soon, those of us that have accepted Jesus as Saviour will be one with Christ, forever and ever. There are wedding preparations being made. The wedding announcements and invitation list is still being prepared, written in blood -- His blood.
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, Who loved me, and gave Himself for me.
Hebrews 13:15-16 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. (16) But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
His Word is amazing!!! \o/ \o/ \o/
God bless and keep you, all.
Love,
Mack

Re: Jesus prays for us
Hey Mack
I guess I can overcome my "shyness" for a few seconds to type this ..... WAIT !! ... It'll probably take me a couple of days !!! .
I don't know why it was , but , in the past , whenever someone said "I'll pray for you " , I used to get a bit uneasy about that statement ,... (could it be the fact that people kept saying that to me a lot ? ) ... no , really , my attitude was "Are you telling me that my prayers are not good enough ?? ...or .. "How special you must think you are " ... I dunno , I didn't know better I guess .
Today , however , though most times I still get a bit ... well I don't know the right word for it , but , cringy ? maybe ? , well how about this , I get a certain reaction being in the offing upon hearing the statement , but my attitude today is more like "Thanx , but just so that you'll know , Somebody allready did that " , and when they ask when , I'd say " Some two thousand years ago" !!!
I feel my "shyness is coming back !
Good post , luv ya

Re: Jesus prays for us
Hello Everyone
Hello Vahn
God bless you, all, this day.
Vahn, I, too, have had a couple occasions where people said they were praying for me, and they said it in such a way as to indicate they were praying for me because they believed me to be dangerously and wickedly out of my mind. Yes, on those few occasions, it gave me great pause and made me cringe. But, I, too, prayed -- prayed forgiveness and blessings for them and prayed for God to reveal any impure motivations that may be hidden in my own heart. Because, I know I cannot fully and confidently trust my own heart and conscience. My confidence is in The Lord. I need The Lord. God is Good!!! Thank You Jesus!!!
Isn't it awesome to know that Jesus prayed for us from before the beginning of time, and continued to do so 2,000 years ago, and that He continues to do so, today? \o/ \o/ \o/ Thank You Lord: God The Father, God The Son, and God The Holy Spirit.
Throughout the Bible, we are told and encouraged to pray for one another. Possibly the one scripture that we think of first is...
James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome. Paul, too, encouraged us to pray for one another, many times.
Colossians 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
I Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
I Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I Thessalonians 5:25 Brethren, pray for us.
The Apostle Paul is asking for prayers for himself and for his ministry team. All Christians come under the attack of satan and the world, but much more so, those Christians that are on the front line spreading His Word and reaching out to others. We need to really be mindful of that when we are lifting up prayers to our Lord. Pray for our brothers and sisters, including our teachers, our pastors, apostles and prophets.
Hebrews 13:18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
I like this one, because here is the Apostle Paul requesting prayer, because even though he and his ministry team trust they are doing what is right, they know they can err. They desire to be in God's will, and so they ask for prayers, that God's will be revealed, always. Awesome!!!
Hebrews 13:19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Here, again, Paul is still asking for prayer, but it is an additional prayer request, because he truly desires to be reunited with those he is now writing to. Awwwwww, he is praying and asking for them to join him in praying for a desire of his heart. I love that. Awwwwwwww.
By the way, Vahn, I hope this does not cause you to cringe, but I occasionally pray for you -- prayers of blessings and blessed revelation that only He can give. May God's blessed will be done.
God bless and keep us all.
Love,
Mack
